Far Cry 2 confirmed for PC, Xbox 360, PS3 this Fall
Given the impressive footage we've seen so far of the game, Far Cry 2 can take its time in development and keep upping the pretty. And you know, our summer is already looking pretty full.

It has no mutants and its not set on a tropical island, its a 50km squared bit of africa which is sandbox like GTA.
Think oblivion but with guns and 5x the size of the playing field.

I agree that all the console iterations are bad. When the original came out it was pretty revolutionary. Best graphics of its time. Granted it, liked most games of its era, havent aged well. I have high hopes for this game but I am as optomistic as karmaghost on the release date. '09 I bet.

A reasonable interface for people with a clue? Non-linear gameplay? Thought-requiring difficulty? The use of more key commands than one has fingers? All hopes dashed.
When you sell out to the console gaming community it becomes how big an orange Hollywood fireball you can make, how frequently can you have the character do something impossible in slo-mo cutscenes, and how many helper screen hints can you cram onto the screen.
