Good post there, pal. However I have to completely have to disagree with:

"I know MS probably thinks they're saving a lot of money with their process of fixing the 360."

No way, I'm sure they're well aware they're throwing an immense amount of money straight into the toilet, there's no question on this. The losses and the revenue hits they're taking on this are well publicized. I'm sure I'll end up finishing off the trifecta and getting a PS3 at some point, because I need to play, I MUST play the new Ratchet & Clank. My 360 has only bricked once, so who knows, maybe further down the road I'll more closely follow your line of thinking. In the interim I'll just stick to getting my ass handed to me by my buddy over wifi on Smash Bros. Damn Kirby.

Agreed, American automobiles are garbage. Almost bought a Honda, bought a worthless Chevy. Will be getting it out of the shop 900 beans later for a GD ignition coil replacement later today :)

I think you missed my point.

MS could fix 360s by replacing them with ones that actually work. But by instead doing as little as possible, including not even checking out that the optical drive on my "repaired" unit worked, they are undermining my believe in their ability to make a system that works and driving me to buy games for other platforms.

If they put forth more effort so that I really felt they fixed it right, I'd be less reticent to buy 360 games, cause there's a lot to like about it when it works.

Yeah weird normally is the xb360 the one that gets broken.

Nintendo support for Latin America kind of sucks,is not like MS that is just call tech support and wait for the cartoon coffin. You have to send it yourself to an authorized center by Nintendo basically if you ask me it feels unsafe also that I have to pay for the repairs.

Oh and my Brawl disc is scratched but I have scratch DR for that. That thing pays itself.

A lot of my friends talk crap about the Xbox and how PS3 will eventually surpass it. (Sales)

But what people fail to realize is that Xbox is something to be extremely proud of.

Here we have this system that came to be at a time of total dominance by one company. Xbox looking way up at this behemoth that is the PS brand.

When I see the current state of gaming and how MS has been delivering more and better content I do get proud, because they have come very far. If the PS3 does eventually overtake the Xbox its nothing to be ashamed of. Afterall xbox is the underdog, xbox is the one that was supposed to be loosing anyway.

I'll put it in better terms. It is a bigger feat for ME to break Kobe's ankles in a ball game then it is for Kobe to break my ankles. It is expected of Kobe to be able to run laps around me.

So even if Xbox doesn't sell as much as PS3, in my eyes all they have to do is match them (or come close) and they will be the one's looking more incredible.

Could you imagine if I played Kobe one on one and he only beat me by a mere 3 points !!!

P.s. don't say that I made a bad comparison either. I don't want to have to get the official PS2 sales V.S. Xbox sales numbers. PS is Kobe and little Xbox is Me. I'm rooting for the underdog.

Just depends on what you like, not what sells more, nobody bought PS2 over Xbox last gen cos it sold more, they bought it cos it had all the games they wanted, if its smash brothers you want, go get Wii, if its Resistance, PS3, if its Gears, 360. Its as simple as that, anyone who feels the need to go get numbers and statistics to proove thier console is better then the other is either a complete gaming nerd so stuck in the gaming world they have forgotten what outside looks like, or they are just sheep of the bigger company.

When was the last time you compared the number of people who bought your favourite food to the number of people who bought your rivals favourite food? Never? Thought so, its sad isnt it, so why compare plastic with wires and chips inside it?

I play all mine equally, I usually get bored or resistance then switch over to gears, get pissed off with noobs on live and switch over to Zelda or something, when each console annoys me for some reason or another, I switch to the other.

And when I'm not playing either of my consoles, I'm relaxing and playing PSP or on the comp.

Or actually living my life unlike some people ¬_¬

Yea I don't do much gaming, PC dominates all my "play" time but even then I've only logged 20 hours onto Steam in the last 2 weeks.

This is why I don't buy other consoles. Why would I spend £300 on a games console when it can fund a mini holiday, or a new phone to keep us all in touch. Consoles are extremely limited like that, only the Wii comes to mind as a useful console (what with disabled kids using it and them injured army people).

Comes down to this:

Exclusive content is a no brainer, whatever system it happens to be on.

Xbox 360 takes the priority in anything involving a FPS or RTS.

PS3 takes the rest just because the unit is so much quieter.

Wii is purely for exclusive content, no ports for me.

I don't play multiplayer games, so that is out the window in the decision process.

If i want to play a exclusive 360 game (example: Halo 3, Gears of War, Mass Effect) then I'll play the 360.

If I want to play an exclusive PS3 game (example: MGS4, Heavenly Sword) then I'll play the PS3.

Come on, this isn't really that hard.

Currently, I only have a Wii, and think it's a pretty underrated console. The internet may disagree with/crucify me for saying this, but fuck 'em. The only thing that matters to me is what I think.

There isn't a whole lot on the PS3 that interests me (LittleBigPlanet looks nice, though). And I'm not touching the 360 until they get their hardware issues sorted out.

It's a matter of convenience. Since I only have one input available for games (my splitter is already occupied by DVD player, DVR, VCR, only has room for 4 devices total), I switch whenever I want to play a specific game badly enough to go to the effort of disconnecting the one currently in there. Usually I go about a month at a time between switching consoles.

Actually, I ought to disconnect my Wii soon. If I play Smash Bros Brawl until I'm tired of it, I'll never like it again, but if I quit while I still want more then it'll be that much sweeter next time. I'm thinking for the next month or so I'll plug in my PS2, and maybe finish Kingdom Hearts so that I can finally start Kingdom Hearts II.

I agree with Duscrom. The only thing that decides what console I play are the games. Anything else would be pointless. Gaming is about fun and I've had fun on every console.

Well, I currently own a PS3 and a Wii and I'm looking to sell my Wii. There are literally two or three games that interest me and it's not worth keeping just for those. The graphics are also a huge letdown, to be honest. It has to be the worst console I've ever owned... Even the CD-32 had Simon the Sorceror with Chris fucking Barrie.
So I'm hoping I'll get full price back for it on eBay so I can buy a 360. I'll only get exclusives for it, though. Multiplatform games may have more aliased edges and slightly less stable framerates on current PS3 versions, but I play games a lot and don't want to be unable to play a large chunk of my library for weeks at a time. I'm talking about the RRoD, of course; everyone I know with a 360 has been struck multiple times. I have no faith at all in the hardware.

AND THAT, my friends, is my OPINIONwords.

When deciding the game, I remember that the PSN is terrible, and doesn't have achievements, and none of my friends own it. Also, there's always that chance that my 360 could get the ring of death, and also it has much less space left than the PS3.

If it's for the most part single player, and takes up a lot of space, I go with the PS3. If it's got a big online multiplayer, takes up little space, and all my friends have it, I go with 360.

Well I guess my buddy and I are lucky ones. We've both had launch date (pre-launch actually since we won them from Pepsi) 360s and they're both still going strong. I do know 3 friends however who are on their 2nd 360s since their early 360's have RRoD'ed on them.
Most of us are multi console owners with at least a 360/Wii combo. I like some of the PS3 games so I have one of them too plus both PSP and DS.
When it comes to gaming time, the DS and the 360 take the crown. Any multiconsole game (other than Rock Band. songsharing FTW), I have bought for the 360 mainly due to more online competition, custom soundtracks and the fact they're usually better overall.

Ill eventually have all 3 cause each will have games that the other, fanboyism is cute in all bue itll boil down to what games you want and who has em, and if they are multiplatform, well who's got the best version. pretty simple.

If I want to play with family and friends, I play Wii. For most other games, PS3. Most FPS games the on computer, unless it's PS3 exclusive.
I don't see the need for Xbox because I can play most of those games on the computer; I don't foresee MS ever approving or funding variety of games like Shadow of The Colossus, Ico, God of War, Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank games. If they ever did, I might buy it. Provided they also fix the RRoD issue.

I have a Wii and PS3. The Wii is great for having friends over, the PS3 is better for solo gaming. PSN games are better than XboxArcade games, and PSN is free while XboxLive isn't. Also, Home will be much better than achievements are. And, while there are good games one the Xbox (Halo, Fable, MassEffect, Bioshock, etc.), many of those games are either out for or coming out for PC. There are far more PS3 exclusive titles that are worth playing than there are 360 titles. So while the PS3 is more expensive, I think that it is better than the 360 in the long run.

Some good points, some dumb points such as "Home will be much better than achievements are." Home and achievements are two completely different things, I don't see how you can compare them.

I never really saw the PS3 as being a lot more expensive than the 360. I mean, currently isn't it $349 vs $399? And in order to get online you gotta dish out $40 bucks. Any bells and whistles are going to skyrocket the price on the 360 side. For example Sony's cam is $40 (or you can use any USB cam if you don't care about Eye games), 360's cam is $80 (and that's the only cam compatible). A headset for the 360 is proprietary and costs around $20. PS3 takes non-proprietary headsets using either USB or Bluetooth. You can easily find a compatible one for $10, or more likely will have one lying around the house that works. My cell-phone bluetooth headset works fine, and no wires to fuss about... or I can just use the mic on the camera even.

Anyways, I'm rambling on but I guess my point is that the cost never seemed to be different enough to matter, and I think there is definitely a vastly higher value to the PS3.

"THE CONTROL"

As simple as that, both Xbox 360 and PS3 are very capable and powerfull, got kinda the same games and altho diferent the online in both is also good and works.
They both got good exclusives that compensate them with eachother.

THE CONTROL,thats the only real diference and its something you have to deal everytime you play, while the PS3 is a joke of a control(think of SNES with 2 analogs added ) the XBOX360 control is a masterpiece of ergonomics and performance, works and handles perfectly.

well i got a little to this comments party stuff...oh well.

i own a Wii since launch, and yes it was for the nintendo games-slash-party console potential it has.
period.

5 months after its launch i bought a ps3, i gotta say it's pretty solid, but the library needs to expand a lot more because quiet frankly, im running out of bluray movies to watch being this my first reason as to why buy one and my second reason was the phasing out of the 60gig model and i need to have backwards compatibility just because. yeah i meant to say just because.

and as far for the xbox360, i never got to own an xbox just because the only good game its had was in all honesty Halo2 (and its prequel), but now things are different, the Lord knows how much i'm itching to play bioshock and gears of war and ninja gaiden 2 and soulcalibur 4 with yoda(also i need to own soulcalibur 2 with spawn from the xbox, im a soulcalibur nut), but im afraid of forking out $350 and getting a RROD. period.

My 360 RROD first week of last September. But MS had me a replacement just in time for Halo 3! Best controller for FPS and racing, but D pad sucks for arcade and fighting. I have no interest in picking up a Sony controller until it has a major layout reconfigeration makeover (a 360 layout).

I pick my 360 more than anything else. Its more pick up and play, in any mood. The wii is kind of awkward for that, if im really knackered and need a break i dont want to be waving my arms around or being forced to stand or sit in a certain place for the wiimote to be pointed at the screen at all times.

I have a ps3. What made me buy a ps3 was the fact that MS doesn't do anything great. The Xbox was a bust and the 360 is just just a modified xbox. I chose the PS3 because it has better graphics, native support for 1080p, blu-ray support (which I knew would win out), and eventually it will have more titles. The only game on x360 that sells consoles is Gears of War and Halo. And the last Halo game didn't seem to be as profitable as the previous ones. But I digress. If you want a console based on price buy a x360. if you want a quality console that will last you a long long time buy a ps3. just look at the ps2. what is it like 7 or 8 years and they are still making games for it.

The answer is a really easy one for me. I ALWAYS head for my 360. Sure it had its problems, but it always has a game I want to play. None of the PS3 exclusives I have seen made me want to run out immediately and buy a PS3 just for that game. We even had a RROD on one of our units, sent it back, and received a new unit in the mail a couple weeks later, no problems since.

I will buy a PS3 here soon with yummy tax money, but I guarantee you it will mainly provide our unused Wii some company while we are off playing the 360...
