Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2 get release window in UK
VideoGamer.com appears to have gotten hold of a Sony UK release schedule for upcoming Sony games, giving us a better idea of when we'll see some of the PS3's biggest titles. According to the release, Killzone 2 and LittleBigPlanet will arrive at some point in September, with Resistance 2 following close behind in November. Sony has confirmed the dates, saying that the info has been "in the public domain for a while now."
The last time we heard that September date being batted around for LBP, it was an unofficial source, so it's nice to get it confirmed. Now, what we don't know is specific dates or how the dates of Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 will stack up with their North American counterparts, but we wouldn't count on them being released much later stateside, promising a very happy autumn for PS3 owners.

I do have to say that I am looking forward to my one friend that bought a PS3 getting Resistance 2....
The Sound @ Mar 26th 2008 1:27PM
Damn leeches! Get your own!!111!
Intentless @ Mar 26th 2008 1:33PM
Honestly I would if I had the money to do that but I'm always wondering where my next meal will be... In the better days I could afford a system so I got the 360 and the Wii then I moved out and so I moved about before the PS3 could even get me moderatly interested. I've always done my best to own all systems... But seeing as he recently became a father he probably won't have a lot of time to play it so he may need someone to keep an eye on it make sure it doesn't go neglected... Hey Dream to Dream can I have your PS3 while you deal with your newborn. I'll give it back when you have more free time and I'll also make sure to let you come over and visit it once in a while.....
Lars @ Mar 26th 2008 3:59PM
Ugh... that reminded me of the "dude, get your own" campaign.
Kujel @ Mar 26th 2008 12:46PM
Now watch those dates get pushed back by 6 months.
Noshino @ Mar 26th 2008 1:19PM
sorry Kujel, I don't know about KZ2 or LBP, but Insomniac rarely misses their release dates...

September will be a good month. Hell, starting in April, there appears to be must have titles every month.
LBP will be a game that I can play with the wife and son. Cannot wait. If KZ2 is coming in September, then the flood gates should open soon. And judging from the 1st footage shown at E3 2007, we are in for a treat.

LittleBigPlanet looks absolutely terrific. PS3 owners now have a great shooter with COD4, so they don't have to pretend to be excited about mediocre games like Resistance or Killzone anymore.

How do you know that they will be mediocre? Do you have a Deloren with a flux capacitor?
I will wait to judge this game until I PLAY it. I know, ridiculous isnt it.
Noshino @ Mar 26th 2008 1:18PM
copa,
Resistance mediocre? yes, the first installment wasnt a stellar FPS, but it was Insomniac's first FPS title, and also, it sorta felt fresh, seriously, the variety of weapons was insane! gotta hand it to Insomniac for being innovative...
And Insomniac promised many things for Resistance 2, these guys have rarely, if at all, delayed any of their games, and almost always have kept their promise when it comes to their games.
As for Killzone 2, you should play the first one, but not on the PS2, play on the PS3, the game runs more smooth! I think since I'm not such a huge fan of the FPS genre I wanted a true FPS game and not an "arcady" one...
And come on, the tech demos for KZ2 thus far blow anything else away (NOTE: Im not saying that its a better game, because no one knows the quality of the game until it is release, I'm refering from a tech point of view)
And yah, people at the arcade are waiting for COD6, such Infinity Ward hoes, haha (kudos to IW for bringing back the franchise with such a quality game)
Phranctoast @ Mar 26th 2008 1:33PM
Noshino.
agree with almost everything there. Disruptor was insomniacs first fps. Disruptor was the original Bioshock (fps with phychic powers).
Noshino @ Mar 26th 2008 2:37PM
Phranctoast,
I apologize, I really didn't hear about that game (was still living in S America around that time and there was varely any, if at all, advertisement for many videogames)
RobLink (McElroy Defence Force) @ Mar 26th 2008 3:28PM
Hold on, weren't you throwing round MGS4 and Little Big Planet as reasons that the PS3 will rule all? Now, while I admit they both look good, we can assume they will be great as well as we can assume that Resistance and Killzone will be crap. It's not one rule for you and another rule for others as suits you.....
Though don't think that I'm trolling - LBP looks the dog's bollocks.
Phranctoast @ Mar 26th 2008 3:47PM
my slang is so F'ed up I no longer know if the dogs bollocks is a compliment or not. Are we talking the dog from Van Wilder... that dog rocked!!!!
RobLink (McElroy Defence Force) @ Mar 28th 2008 11:28PM
No one particular dog really, but yes it means good. Would you like a tasty cream bun?!?!
Slaziman @ Mar 26th 2008 12:52PM
nice pic lol
voodoo_craig @ Mar 26th 2008 12:53PM
LBP should be a brilliant title, I can't wait for the release of that one.
Killzone and Resistance however, just can't get myself excited about. The previous releases were hyped to hell and turned out to be rather average, why should these be any different?
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Mar 26th 2008 2:49PM
BECAUSE THEY LOOK PRETTY!!!
Though really I am a bit excited for Resistance 2, if only because I wish that other developers would incorporate the whole separate story lines for single player and multi-player into their games.
AK @ Mar 26th 2008 2:57PM
Yeah, but noone wants to be a nazi.
Lars @ Mar 26th 2008 3:56PM
I think I saw all of one commercial for Resistance. Saw nothing for Killzone. Hyped to hell? I think not.
Honestly, Killzone and Resistance didn't do much for me either, but Resistance was far more enjoyable than Halo 3... now THAT was a mediocre game hyped to hell.
knowthyself @ Mar 26th 2008 1:02PM
Awesome. This is sony's year for sure.
whistlepig @ Mar 26th 2008 1:34PM

Bleu @ Mar 26th 2008 1:39PM

Gtalien @ Mar 26th 2008 1:55PM

Maverick Saturn @ Mar 26th 2008 2:18PM

Lord Chako @ Mar 26th 2008 3:00PM
I thought this was the democrats year.
Jacksons @ Mar 26th 2008 5:36PM
Resistance 2 for the win! Oh..and those other two there. Nah I'm joking, they all look great. Hopefully Killzone 2 is a lot glaring flaws.
OTAM @ Mar 26th 2008 10:57PM
Not April,June,July,or even August. I'm so happy game companies still can't find those other 9 months in the year to release titles.
hvnlysoldr @ Apr 14th 2008 1:15AM
The two shooters aren't interesting to me. LittleBigPlanet had potential interest but it's diminished.
