Supreme Commander for Xbox 360 delayed
We'll admit that we had almost forgotten that a console port of Chris Taylor and Gas Powered Games' Supreme Commander was in the works for the Xbox 360, which is probably just as well as it keeps us from being disappointed that the futuristic RTS won't be making its April release date. According to Shacknews, the port, which is being handled by Hellbent Games, has been pushed out by publisher Aspyr until "later this spring or early summer."
No reason was given, through Aspyr marketing man Eric Duncan spun up the delay, stating that "the additional time put into development will result in better gameplay and more fun for gamers." Supreme Commander is certainly one of the most complex RTS releases to come along in a good while, and will be a good test to see just how far the genre can be pushed on a game pad, as long as they don't push it over the cliff.

ZOMG, more like Delaybox, right? RIGHT?!?
*crickets*
Right then....

I thought only Sony products faced these problems!

I'd say it's Chris Taylor's fault...
Sabotage, working for the enemy....

Trying to put Supreme Commander on anything without a mouse and keyboard is like trying to print the Bible on a peanut shell.
Phranctoast @ Mar 26th 2008 10:13AM
If they can get voice commands working flawlessly in rts games for consoles they could really kick some ass.

Sacrelicious!
Sir Fidlious Wong (Zeon Defense Force) @ Mar 26th 2008 10:11AM
Nope, sacriligious is needing to wait while Douglas Preston's Blasphemy arrives in the mail. I just finished Lincoln Child's Deep Storm and I needed a new book to read while waiting for Revenant.
I read some reviews for Blasphemy online and once again saw the typical "this book paints christians as fanatics" rants and HAD to buy it. Mainly because a vast majority of these people who get offended at that kind of stuff are often the ones the book portrays. I mean, seriously... it's a science thriller called Blasphemy. If all you feature is the level headed "live and let live" christians in such a book, no conflict would arise and you'd essentially get four people in front of a fireplace agreeing with each other... BORING!
Phranctoast @ Mar 26th 2008 10:12AM
going to hell for laughing......

Let me help - with a small pen, I shall write on a peanut shell:
"Do onto others as you would have them do onto you."
There. Done. You can go ahead and throw out the rest of the book.
ThePremierAssassin @ Mar 26th 2008 10:03AM
YAWN...anyone truly care?
And I'll lower myself and respond to Shaggi's retarded post...
Lets see 1 delayed game on the 360 vs like what? At LEAST 20 MAJOR delays!?
Sorry but the delaystation 3 deserves its name. You can't attach that to the 360 because of ONE game. A game thats not that critical to the 360's sucess, a game that has not recieved that much attention or hype, and a game that certainly isn't one that makes the list when 360 fanboys argue that the 360 is better than the pos3.
When is Haze coming out again? I coulda SWORN that it was supposed to be out like what? LAST YEAR...?
Sir Fidlious Wong (Zeon Defense Force) @ Mar 26th 2008 10:06AM
When is Too Human coming out again? I could have sworn it was 1999...
ThePremierAssassin @ Mar 26th 2008 10:15AM
LOL...you truly are a dumbass or just really short sited...
Too Human was ORIGINALLY planned for the playstation 1
Then Silicon Knights decided to put it on the Gamecube. THEN they decided to once again change gears and put it on the 360!
And that still doesn't even mention the fact that the delay of Too Human is laughable when compared to the amount of delays that occurs on the ps3.
But hey you can pretend like Too Human has been delayed forever on the 360 when the truth is that the game has been in development for like 10 years over MULTIPLE different gaming systems.
And unlike Haze, Too Human hasn't announced any dates. Its the gaming sites that keep claiming its coming out this quarter or that quarter only to find out that its not.
Phranctoast @ Mar 26th 2008 10:16AM
Too Human is coming out right after Duke Nukem Forever.
Sir Fidlious Wong (Zeon Defense Force) @ Mar 26th 2008 10:24AM
Premier... look, I've been nice to this point. I get a chuckle as your mother fastens your white helmet before you can play outside so you don't hurt yourself, but there is a limit. If no quarters were announced on Too Human, why is Dennis Dyack constantly on a podium about how UE3 caused him to miss the "Holiday 06" promise for the game? We could go on, though. Like how Oblivion fell out of launch periods, etc. Facing facts, 360 had a period of constant delays....
I could understand how you forgot this considering you must have smoked yourself retarded by now but 360 has a history rife with delays as well. And truthfully, if MS would have delayed when they truly needed to, we wouldn't be looking at a 40% failure rate.
Shagittarius @ Mar 26th 2008 10:53AM
I just thought I should be in on this conversation since I was blamed for Fidlious' original post.
Morning.
Sir Fidlious Wong (Zeon Defense Force) @ Mar 26th 2008 11:04AM
See, I'm just arguing because he took a fun and cheeky thread and derailed it with his console warrior bullshit. He's a dying breed, once the US institutes it's DS banning act (similar to the sword banning act), he'll be publicly ousted as a remnant of a more ignorant age.
WiNG @ Mar 26th 2008 10:16AM
If you want to know what delays are, be a PC gamer.
Two words:
Blizzard
VALVe
That is all.
Ihar `Philips` Filipau @ Mar 26th 2008 11:45AM
... Seeing how SC bring even modern high-end PC hardware to its knees, I wonder if Xbox360 even capable of running something like that. Or they would strip game to its bare basics.
P.S. Truly, in all senses, SC is successor of TA.
Einhanderkiller @ Mar 26th 2008 11:50PM
They had to tone down the unit limit and remove the larger maps in order to make the game playable on the 360.
Dirt @ Mar 26th 2008 3:49PM
Yeah, I don't care how much they have to strip it down looks wise. If I cared about looks I wouldn't be firing up TA every now and then. I'd love to have a good RTS to play on the 360, regardless of what happens to get it there.
Psaakyrn @ Mar 26th 2008 5:52PM
Is that image supposed to be symbolic as XBoX 360 vs PS3? Because I can't help buy visualize the robot as the XBox 360 and the spider as the PS3...

Though the golden rule is a good lesson from the bible, the most important inspirational book of the bible is Genesis which spells out the laws of the universe and the mission of Jesus and all other central figures.
