Indie game shirts (with games) now available at Target
Next time you're running around your local Target, keep an eye out for some indie gaming love. The Experimental Gameplay Project has recently launched its own clothing line: EGPApparel. The shirts are appearing in Targets all across the United States, each featuring a particular independently-developed title. As if that wasn't filled with enough awesome on its own, each shirt includes the full version of the indie game. That's an awesome t-shirt, and an awesome game, for only $12 USD.
There are currently eight shirts in production, featuring indie titles like Tower of Goo, Big Vine, Gravity Head, Gish, and more. According to Tower of Goo developer Kyle Gabler, the shirts are appearing in Target stores nationwide, but have not yet reached every last chain location. Of course, the more people who run out and feverishly buy all eight designs, the more likely Target will be to ramp up distribution. We're just saying.
Check out a full list of participating Targets in California after the break.
The following list is of all known Target stores in California carrying the EGPApparel shirts. Targets in other states are also participating, but the only available list is for California:

That's excellent! I have too many Nintendo T-shirts as it is.
Ted @ Mar 27th 2008 8:54AM
That's awesome! Do any other Targets have them besides ones in California? I'm in NJ atm. Can't be bothered to drive all the way to one to find out :(
joel brandenberg @ Mar 27th 2008 10:41AM

Joel visits too many porn sites.
On Topic: This is cool, I always liked Target's selection of cool shirts.

This is a fantastic idea. I'm glad to see indie gaming in the spotlight.
bobartig @ Mar 27th 2008 1:43PM
I agree, and what a great way to distribute games. You get something you need, and something to entertain yourself with at the same time.
Jerk Face @ Mar 27th 2008 9:10AM
This is a bizarre, but cool, development!
NATO_Duke @ Mar 27th 2008 9:42AM
Seems like wearing these shirts will only lead to getting picked on.
Sir Fidlious Wong (Zeon Defense Force) @ Mar 27th 2008 10:01AM
And somehow I can relate to these shirts much more than Nascar, Harley Davidson, and Budweiser....
NATO_Duke @ Mar 27th 2008 12:09PM
Good point.
bobartig @ Mar 27th 2008 1:44PM
Clearly, you need to hang out with more gamers and game developers, where these are more likely to garner you some geek cred.
Nick @ Mar 27th 2008 12:35PM
Damn it. I was at Target last night doing our baby registry. I didn't even realize. Looks like I'm going back tonight for one of these bad boys! Can anyone recommend a good one to start with?

It'd be nice if these were near Torrance or something >:( Making me travel thirty-forty minutes to get this, sheesh.
sicsided @ Mar 27th 2008 12:00PM
Great. Love the shirts and all, but things that come to target soon become torn to shit by people of the fads....
rikimaru @ Mar 27th 2008 12:30PM
These have been available in Utah for a few months now, my girlfriend got me the Robot Love one, it's pretty cool.
Joe P @ Mar 27th 2008 1:15PM
Sweet, I'm going to have to go pick one of these up. I LOVE YOU 2D BOY :D
bobartig @ Mar 27th 2008 1:40PM
I went to the Albany, CA location last weekend in search of these, and came up empty. In fact, we left the entire damned store without buying a thing! How's that supposed to help the economy? I guess I'll have to trek down to San Leandro, according to the list of stores.
And besides, can't I just buy these online already? *waves credit card threateningly*
Kris @ Mar 27th 2008 2:14PM
Florida Targets have had these for a while as well.
Ryoga Vee @ Mar 27th 2008 2:15PM
Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!

1121 Birdcage Citrus Heights (NO IDEA)
This is in the Sacramento area.
Egon Pax @ Mar 27th 2008 2:49PM
Dang. I was in Target just a few days ago... Not as if there isn't like 4 within 15 mins of my house.
Egon Pax @ Mar 27th 2008 2:51PM
Oh yeah, this is an awesome idea. I didn't read the title and at first thought these were just tee's, which would have been pretty neat by themselves... but they come with a game? All for $12?! I'm so doing that.
Anyone recommend any of the games? I've played the free flash of Tower of Goo and thought that was fun...
Tegolin @ Mar 27th 2008 4:22PM
I also found a Rock Band guitar shirt at Target.
maxgoetz2000 @ Mar 27th 2008 7:03PM
My Target had these babies on clearance for around $9.50 at Cedar Rapids, IA. There's a good number of them left and a good variety too. Hope this doesn't mean the thing was a failure. This is an awesome idea and a good deal.
mr mobius @ Mar 27th 2008 7:51PM
Get these to the UK. They are stylish and unique. I'd buy one from the internet if they were available to ship from the USA even. They are pretty cheap T shirts and look better than a load of gaming T shirts I've seen online.
TrojanGuy @ Mar 27th 2008 7:52PM
Sweet, the Santa Rosa one is pretty close to me. Although I dunno if these games are any good or not.
Cluckyx @ Mar 27th 2008 9:16PM
I want the Gish Shirt, I want the Tower of Goo Shirt and I want the dark Tree shirt.

Saw them over at my Target, but they were already clearanced out at $8 and didn't have fat man sizes (2XL).
