Ninja Gaiden II demo coming in May

Ever since the announcement of Ninja Gaiden II's June 3rd release, we've become increasingly annoyed with the months of April and May. As is the case with those insolent, slow-moving people who bunch up in front of you at the supermarket, we really just want to ram them out of the way so that we may fill our cart to the brim with candy as quickly as possible. Having turned around and spotted our menacing glares, May has at least shown some decency by offering us a sampler -- a Ninja Gaiden II demo to be precise (and free of rambling allegories).

According to Microsoft's Ninja Gaiden II website, those eager to decapitate demons, mangle monsters and otherwise alliteratively assault archfiends can expect to download a demon-stration from Xbox Live Marketplace in May. The page also advises to look for "exclusive" content from April 15th, no doubt referring to things like gamerpics, themes and videos pretending to be demos. Wait, we're not falling for that one again, are we?

@Fenix: When I read your post I laughed because I just pictured my wife's face every time I tell her there's a great game coming out this month.

It never seems to amuse her... LOL!

I am gonna have to start selling Amway products or something to make the extra cash. :P

BTW, I picked up Dark Sector yesterday and its really sweet. I think it will do really well regardless of the meh reviews. Its worth a buy IMO. The glaive is awesome.

Yea like I said you wont be dissapointed and I havent even played MP yet. Heres what I like about it. (I have the 360 version mind you)

Graphics and Lighting are awesome, built on Evolution Engine which looks very similar to UE3. Im playing this and hearing this on a 50" Sammy 1080plasma and 1000watt 5.1 Sammy SS. Its ridiculous.

Voicework, music, and sound effects are great. Escpecially the Glaive. Kill animations are really nice as well.

The framerate is buttery smooth. Im pretty sure its at 60fps and might dip a little under that but definatly higher framerate than GoW's 30fps.

Special effects look great like when the glaive is on fire or has electricity.

Huge Bosses and battles.

The story is good and moves along nicely, Im on the 5th level and so far so good.

All in all I would say this game reminds me more of a Resident Evil game than Gears. The only Gears resemblence is the cover mechanic which it does really well IMO. Not once whiel I was playing did I say oh this is Gears. Also theres no blind fire but seriously I never use that option in any of my shooting games. Anybody that was on the fence should really check it out.

Oh ask and receive I guess. Xbox live market place just added a new game demo - UEFA Euro 2008. Another one of those lame ass soccer games! Release that crap in Europe, not in the States EA!

Man I cant wait for this. I been a HUGE fan of Ninja Gaiden. People wanna say the first one was difficult but I welcomed the challenge. This one seems like it should be more teh n00b friendly so guess more people will pick it up.

I predict this game will outsell DMC4 even with it being 360 exclusive =) MS just needs to push the marketing on this game. The demo is a great start.

Ninja Gaiden wasn't that hard. Normal mode wasn't, anyway.

This version looks really visceral. Which is good, at times.

I have no problems with hard games. I welcome a challenge. I found Ninja Gaiden to be stupid hard....

Let me explain. Bad design decisions made it more difficult than it had to be. A checkpoint system would have been nice. Maybe beating a level and getting killed on the next one, and having to refight the previous boss. Or losing on a boos and having to fight your way back to him/her. Theres hard and then there is frustrating...

Better spacing of save points would have been nice.
I can see Itagaki thinking.... "how can I be more of a douche" oh yeah no checkpoints."

I played Ninja Gaiden, not black and I thought it had the right amount of difficulty. Also, Phranctoast, are you saying there were poorly spaced save points or no save points? I remember using save points (dragon statues) while progressing through levels.
