You can play board games on a plane, you just need to find the right ones. Besides Travel Settlers http://www.bunkerguts.com/blog/?p=59, there are a bunch of express versions of the crappy old games that everyone loves to hate. Believe it or not Monopoly Express is very fun http://www.bunkerguts.com/blog/?p=127, and there is a Risk Express, but you'll have to go the UK to get it... or have a bunch of guys from BoardGameGeek.com import for you.

I'm going to attempt a travel version of Pandemic, which is an _amazing_ game, and you can get almost anyone to play it. http://www.bunkerguts.com/blog/?p=135

I travel every week for work and spend quite a bit of time on airplanes. My favorite game is see how long we can all take to get off the airplane. The key to this one is making sure everyone gets up when the seatbelt light goes off stuffing the asiles and making it as inefficient as possible for everyone to file off the plane. I maintain that a bus evacuation type drill should be manditory training for being on an airplane.

The only game of that nature I have ever played was not pretty.

During a landing a baby directly in the row in front of me and one behind me decided to drop a deuce in tandem. The game was to see how long you could hold your breath. We had to stay seated because of the landing and then you have to wait to get to the gate.

Your only prize is not getting sick thus showing you’ve never cared for a baby.

The parents got to play a game of their own. It was parting a mass of first class travelers like Moses and the Red Sea. Because when your child has their Huggies full of stool no one wants to get in your way.

My brother and I came up with one using the in-flight catalogs. The goal is to see who can come up with the item with the biggest useless-to-expensive ratio that can be found in it. So, the 3 thousand dollar butcher-block counter, which has some form of practical use, would lose out to the 1200 dollar ship's steering wheel made to sit in a corner of a room and look pretty, or the gold-plated "hot stuff!" license plate meant for wall decoration.
