Delta Force: Angel Falls teaser on NovaLogic website
The front page of developer NovaLogic's web page has a teaser poster, shown above, for a new Delta Force game, subtitled Angel Falls. No other details are given. Being that we haven't seen a Delta Force game since 2005's Black Hawk Down and the expansion, Team Sabre, we're interested in how this game can compare bar-raising games like Call of Duty 4.

Wasn't a fan of this series at all. I too would be interested to see how they can compete with COD4.
icecold @ Apr 26th 2008 7:09PM
cod4 sucks
Killer Loki @ Mar 28th 2008 11:51AM
NovaLogic are still around?? Damn I thought they folded a long time ago!
CJC @ Mar 28th 2008 12:02PM
So did I. But apparently, they made a game in '05.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Novalogic
...not that I've played anything by them since '99.

"we're interested in how this game can compare bar-raising games like Call of Duty 4"
I'm not, cause it won't. Why kid yourselves.
AudioSpaghetti @ Mar 28th 2008 12:22PM
wait didnt joint operations come out after BHD? anyway, sweeet! iv been wondering when they were gonna come out with a new game. been a fan of the series since the original.
nmezib @ Mar 28th 2008 1:05PM
I'm sorry, but Delta Force: Black Hawk Down was a big floppy flaming pile of ass. A real half-assed, sorry excuse for a game trying to capitalize on the success of a merely okay movie.
The bad AI, (and I mean TERRIBLE), not so great graphics even for its time, unintuitive controls and clunky interface make it one of the worst FPS I have ever played in recent memory. And yes, I have played Daikatana.
To tell the truth, I'm not actually sorry I said that. It feels good, really. now if Angel Falls is anything like BHD... I'll give it a pass.
Ally @ Mar 28th 2008 6:19PM
Im not sure if you are reffering to the console or PC version of BHD, but the PC version was damn good online!
The film too was very good imo, but im glad the game wasnt just replaying the movie. Im hopefull about this new delta force game, its been a while...should be interesting :D
Eggy @ Mar 28th 2008 1:12PM
Please go back to your roots for once! AN intelligent strategical shooter and no Call of Duty gameplay which is fun but gets old real quick for alot of people.
Ken Seang @ Mar 28th 2008 1:32PM
Actually Black Hawk Down was good for the pc, while the console received a crappy port of it years later... But im interested to see what new engine they have for this game...
Owyn @ Mar 28th 2008 1:52PM
DF:BHD was mint. I spent many hours on the multiplayer. It's a arcade romp.
markhill66 @ Mar 28th 2008 3:45PM
I totally agree. BHD was what really got me into multiplayer shooters (only because Goldeneye wasn't online yet). But I really liked the online play.
Why does the symbol on the ground of this picture have a boner sticking out of it? Is the game going to be that awesome?
Owyn @ Mar 28th 2008 5:17PM
Aha. I hadn't even noticed that.
If it's have as good as BHD, i'll pick it up. Bring back the CAR15! I'm so tempted to install it again..
william @ Mar 28th 2008 2:19PM
awsome i loved all the delta force games i think im one of 3 people to play through the single player.i also play the crap out of the multiplayer.
Organic_Shadow @ Mar 28th 2008 2:28PM
The fun of delta force games was simply seeing how far away from an enemy you can hit them from merely by studying the arch of the tracer on all of your bullets.
The maps were huge and while the game play wasn't great, it still had it's charm in some odd....disturbing way.
BHD changed all that though, so maybe they are just doing what they can to get up to speed with how you're supposed to make a shooter? Doubtful it will come anywhere near CoD4 quality though.
The3rdNuisance @ Mar 28th 2008 4:52PM
Sweet, Delta Force: Task Force Dagger is one of the best games I've played (I can't believe I just typed that.), while Team Sabre and Black Hawk Down are two of the most infuriating, hopefully they can combine the formulas well, and come up with a winner.
... or just remake BHD's quality and don't put in team mates.
Mr.Iwantfreestuff @ Mar 28th 2008 8:37PM
Huh, NovaLogic. I haven't seen them in awhile. I loved that F-22 game they made to death though. Played hours and hours.
TWIMTBP @ Mar 28th 2008 9:10PM
I remember playing old novalogic games like "mig29 fulcrum" on my friend's Pentium 100Mhz and even before that, Su-27 something on my 486DX2-66.
In the old delta force games all the enemies looked the same. As someone pointed out earlier, it was fun to see how far you could shoot your enemies from.
EMOruffino @ Mar 28th 2008 9:51PM
i still like playing joint ops....
Bobby @ Mar 28th 2008 11:36PM
Listen people . . . all these tactical shooters your playing today are the grandchilds of the very first Delta Force and Rainbow Six titles.
I have high hopes for this game. Novalogic is one of my favourite companies (Joints Ops was hella fun!). I was wondering where they went off too.
Anyway with the new gen consoles out, I'm hoping this game will go multi platform.
For those people who have not played any of the Delta Force games . . . essentially its a cross between infantry combat of CoD4 with the large open battlefields of games like BF2.
t_m @ Mar 29th 2008 12:42AM
I used to love the fact that all the novalogic games linked together in mulitplayer, so the tank game, the helicopter game, the jet game etc.. all could play in the same arena. I still think that was a stunning idea (and probably way ahead of it's time)
That said, sims haven't been selling well for the last 10 years, so i'm just glad novalogic is still around at all.
kidjoe @ Apr 18th 2008 1:54AM
Yeah, you're right there...
It would be great if they can combine at least the helix the tank and the soldier!!!
Say building a campaign that involves all those 3 is simply awsome, you will have numerous possibility to do the job (stealing helix from an enemy basement for example, and helping your teammates taking out enemies'tank etc ...)
s-paw @ Mar 29th 2008 3:32PM
I hope that there is support in this game for Southpaw and Legacy controls. Any one else who agrees should scope out http://www.alt-controls.com
ideon @ Mar 29th 2008 3:54PM
hope this game uses voxels instead of those good for nothing pixels
Tom Miller @ Mar 29th 2008 6:59PM
I sent this in yesterday
Coldflame @ Mar 30th 2008 10:31PM
Lol
The sad thing is, I just re-installed the Original Delta Force, and it is hilarious. I run it on an 8800GTS and it's just funny, all the baddies look the same, the AI is horrible and oh, brings back such memories, I also have F-22 Lightning 3, and Armored Fist: 3.
That being said, i've owned every Delta Force game, from 1 all the way to BHD. BHD got annoying very quickly, although the mini-gun did own. A lot. A lot a lot.
Although, Landwarrior takes the cake for hardest single player I've ever played.
poizon13 @ Mar 31st 2008 9:56PM
Reading some of the posts on this message board makes me think have you guys are mostly people who could not get on with the hardness of DF-BHD multiplayer , CoD 4 gives u the ability to shoot people about 100 foot away , delta force gives you the ability to shoot people 100 miles away ... that is why the graphics are lower on these games , larger maps = less graphics.
The delta force series and joint ops have been more like army simulator games to me and i still play them now to the other fps games i have. Nothing beats the feeling of finding that sneaky sniper in the hills and knifeing him up so ur buddys are safe , or being a medic and saveing many people as if ur in a real battle situation.
I shall now give examples of how delta force lead the way for these other new fps games...
Where was the first time you seen a flash bang or explosion that makes your character go blind and def with the high pitch noise in your ears ?
DF-BHD
Whuich game was the first to do online medals and stats so you can see the progress of your character ?
DF-BHD
Vehicles and Weapons ... black hawks , hum vees , satchel charges , AT4 , i had not used them before in a multiplayer game untill DF-BHD , and joint ops continued the fun adding much more range but i still find the 1 shot kill in DF-BHD better as cheaters get killed aswell as normal players ...
The single player missions i really enjoyed also although you say the AI is terrible i suggest you try the last mission on delta force - team saber , and that will make you realise how hard the AI can be.
i also have Delta Force - Xtreme , wuich didnt sell so well and i dont even see it mentioned here this was the game after joint ops that showed nova were still going , why the hell they released bhd on the PS2 is beyond me there biggest market is obviously the pc i mean who the hell plays fps on a console.
So with all that said i would like to say im looking forward to the next Delta Force , may it be the best one yet !!!
' and btw another company is going to be makeing call of duty 5 so looks like ur cod4 fun is over already '
Vindicare86 @ Apr 4th 2008 3:07AM
has anyone realized that this is the day before April Fools and that the title for this game is Angel Falls? It seems like this might be an April Fools gag to me. I hope not though, I played the hell out of Joint Operations and Black Hawk Down, they were the games that really got me into FPSes.
Dorkair @ Apr 4th 2008 3:22AM
I can tell you a little bit so far of what i know. The game will be out in 2008, which i guess you know. Also a new team called Team Chaos has taken the Novalogic Official Squad status. This is the link i have for them so far; Www.freewebs.com/clanxk this is a shit site, but i spoke to 1)olphin whos the team leader, he told me that this site is only tempoary untill the games comes out. When the game is out they will give out the URL to the real website.
Conversation between him and me:
Dorkair: Why isn't the website launched to the public yet?
1)olphin: Because we have information that the public doesn't have rights to know before the day the game is out. This Freewebs website, is a website i have for my old BHD-Clan, which is abit odd. But as told above, we have the great pleasure to lead the first "Novalogic Official Squad" in Delta Force Angel Falls. As for the graphics you asked me earliyer, i can't tell you alot. But i promisse you, you won't be desapointed.
asunder @ Apr 23rd 2008 9:23AM
LoL poizon is dead on w/ hiw interpretation of things.. as nerdy as it sounds i STILL play BHD. people who think the "multiplayer is shit" are just people who prolly got raped senseless the first time they played and never picked it back up after their assholes were dragging the ground.
personally i hope angel falls is half as good as BHD because even at that, it wont get boring like cod-4 multiplayer does in 5 minutes once you've killed 40 people thru walls with a shotgun (lots of talent, let me tell ya) and its gonna take at least that to get me to stop playing BHD.
i just hope they come out with some sort of legitimate anti-cheat. lol Punk buster is already cracked. just another flaw w/ COD4 i thoughtt i'd share
gideon @ May 7th 2008 6:28AM
I bought COD4 and do not care for it at all. It may have better graphics and all , But I do not like dying every 30 seconds, So many ppl are playing it , It is pure chaos. Jamming 25 players on a small map is not a fun thing. I will sticke with DF games as I started out on them . They are simple and just plain fun . And alot of peaple still Play BHD. One persons opinion of a game does not make it a fact.
Tim @ May 9th 2008 3:32PM
Shows how much the writer of this notice knows: Novalogics last release was DFX a couple years ago.
martin @ Jun 13th 2008 4:59PM
well i have tried BF2 and got old quik playing the same maps over and over agian with that in mind thats why. I still play BHD becaouse you can actually build your own maps wich i hope the new game still has its own map editor still who knows it maybe good and it may just flop like delta forsce extreme. But one thing for sure we wont find out until it comes out so will see...
JGardner @ Jun 16th 2008 3:02PM
DF2 was the only one worth playing online
