Gran Turismo 5 Prologue now available on Euro PSN
No doubt tired of all the screeching that emanated from yesterday's delay of tire-screeching driving sim, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, Sony has finally sorted out its "technical difficulties" and updated the European PlayStation Store. Our readers from across the sea can now cease sending us irate tips and reserve the gnashing of teeth for when they send an exorbitantly priced car into an unforgiving barrier.
Whether you opted for the downloadable Prologue or the Blu-ray version, we hope you enjoy it long enough for the full game to come hurtling around the corner.

Vidikron, are you there? I already purchased 2000 Wii Points... If I lose, you can be sure that I will send you an N64 VC gift.
That was the same case with Mario Galaxy and several other games. Mario Galaxy had 800,000 pre-orders in Japan, and only sold 250,000 in the first week.
Everyone think that GT5P will sell 1 million int he first day, and I say that it will not sell the million even in the first week.
The PS3 install base in Europe is 3.8 million. To sell a million of copies first day, that means it have to sell to almost 30% of the install base, and thats pretty hard.
That's my opinion, but if that happend, well, congratlations.
1,000,000 Europeans are not going to pay $40 for a demo. Just because they speak funny languages over there doesn't mean they are mentally retarded.
Only Japan numbers
6. Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (BR version) - SCEJ - 202,131
Not enough PS3 = WEAK sales
200,000+(number of PSN dsales, in Japan (online games are mostly ignored) = not very much)
Very dissapointing considering earlier Prologue sales 1,000,000+ IIRC
I could care less about your little bets, and even less about how many copies GT5P sells. I was hoping to read some first impressions from some euros, but you had to infect us with your derail.
¡callate cabrón!
Is the demo free?
And
Is there going to be damage this time around (I'm pretty sure the Cell could handle it :D)

no damage in prolouge, but they say it will be in gt5 when it's released next year.
BOB SAGET! Why can't they do damage?!
BTW I want proof on the damage being in the final release.
The demo was available on the japanese PSN ( I'm told its no longer available, but i was recently able to re-download it about 2 weeks ago)
The demo had maybe a dozen cars and one track.
All we have for proof on the damage is conversations with kazanori, and we all know how well he keeps his words :(
you know why there's no damage in GT? Lazy ass programmers and no competition.
"Forza hadn't been doing it for 5 years.
you know why there's no damage in GT? Lazy ass programmers and no competition."
Anyway, like Kye mentioned, Forza has damage which indeed is nice, but has been proven countless times that it isn't well simulated, and if the Forza crowd complains about it (Yes, that's auto fans for you, they bitch about everything!), imagine what would happen to GT which has a bigger fanbase?....better not have it than to do a poor job...
I'll buy GT5 if they have car damage, I want to see a beautifully crashed Ferrari!

The people who are going to buy this are they going to pay 40 to 60$ for the full game next year?
If this game is as complete as Sony fanboys say then paying for the full game next year is just absurd , you would be paying for damage models and new tracks.
I mean unless Polyphony is giving discounts or free stuff to the people that bought prologue when GT5 is released it seems like they are just hurting themselves.
It would’ve been a better idea just charge the price of the full game and give them Prologue while GT5 is released. Like some sort of pre-order.

Fanboys are retarded.
glitched -- it's been back and forth on the damage issue, my bet is it won't be realized due to "time constraints" and relegated to the "next installment".
i realize im using a lot of "quotation marks" but all of the "official comments" regarding this game are getting extremely "cliche'd".
i dont need to know what shade of chrome the engine block of my honda civic is when i crash its front end into a wall. just give me something between a dent and "totaled" and i'll be happy.

Hmm - wonder which I'll go for?
How can they get away with that!

Prologue wasn't delayed was it? It was the full shebang that got a 2009 date.

It was due w/ the Weekly Thursday PS Store Update
but due to 'last minute' tech issues
it fell over till today.
Don't take my word for it....TAKE HIS

but i also have a magazine interview with kazanori that said gt4 will have online.
Dude the voice over in that video was downright laughable... Hard to tell if the guy was making fun of him or not...
The wheel is crazy... Tune your car while driving! I have the last Logitech wheel that works with the PS3 so I wont be buying the new wheel but maybe when GT 5 releases... Anyway, Thanks for the video man.... I'll be on Hot Shots Tonight...

Really the fanboy level on joystiq is downright pathetic.
Eggy, what do you think about Wii Sports being sold separatly in Japan?
Yeah, when is that?? 3008 with the PSmm (Mind-Meld)??
they have been promising that since GT2! The excuse for that was "oh, the car companies didnt want to see their cars wrecked."
I call Bull...
