While
Soul Calibur IV's trio of Amy, Cervantes and Zasalamel were first
revealed this week in the pages of Famitsu, we find that we're often far too busy to be bothered with flipping through a magazine looking at pictures, let alone one we can't even read. That's why we're thrilled that Namco Bandai has sent out some screens showing off the characters as they make the high-def leap from the PS2-exclusive
Soul Calibur III to this summer's sequel. Still, as fearsome as Cervantes is (just look at that pirate scowl, you know he means
business), we still wonder how even he will handle
dealing with Jedi.

Cannot wait for this to ship. I hope they powered down Zasalamel. I loved the character but because of his power, he was on house ban....

are you pulling for the indie (ie sloppy) coffee house chick character instead?
Ayyy I attack you with my contempt if i cared to bother

Anyway, can't wait for this to finally ship. Hopefully, they'll have a robust online feature for Xbox Live (and PS3 :P). If not, I may have to have a personal ban on this.

It was loved on the Dreamcast because it looked amazing but if you really thought about it, it was nothing more than a button basher. And since then, it's had to rely on gimmick characters (DOA4) to keep itself afloat.
I don't know, maybe I'm just ranting. Or waiting for Virtua Fighter to arrive on the Wii - which it isn't.

Its also my favorite fighter.
But nothing can beat a marathon session of Marvel Vs Capcom.
=(
I'm gonna give this one a chance.
Either way, compared to games like DoA and Mortal Kombat, this series is a beacon of good design. The whole 'button basher' thing is't really so; I'll take an intuitive fighter over a fighter where one needs to study character guides to end up half-decent any day.
Anni, you might want to give SCIII another shot. For several reasons although none have to do with the horrible conquest mode. First, Zasalamel is the shit. Great character, great story. Unfortunately, like Cervantes and Nightmare, he keeps most of his power from when he's the endboss. Second, more difficult. Same old tactics won't work, you have to swap up your techniques significantly. Third, interactive cutscenes. This was a major thing I loved about the original Soul Blade that went missing for a while. Each ending presents you with an action you have to do to get a different ending. Some levels start out with a cutscene which effects the round such as getting poisoned if you fail or losing some health prematch.
You said everything I wanted to say but probably better. I love these moments on boards or blogs when theres someone out there that can see what I do.
*takes your penis out of my mouth*
ANYWAY, I can't for SCIV. Zas was my tertiary but I loved him and I hope hes just as badass.

I'm love the designs for each character and the clothes they're wearing. I don't know I guess little things like that add to the beauty of the game for me.
Anyways I can't for it. Although the whole Star Wars thing is jumping the shark if ever ther ewas a case of it.
