Spring PSN lineup dated

Sony recently showed off near-final builds of its next wave of original PSN games, and even committed to release time frames, according to MTV Multiplayer. Though weekly releases on the PS Store are largely kept behind the big, black curtain until showtime, it appears that Sony is trying to steal some attention away from the recent bevy of WiiWare ~~boloney~~ "buildup" and the well-oiled Xbox Live Arcade machine by generating previews of its own. So how 'bout those dates:

Late April: PixelJunk Monsters Encore (expansion pack)
Early May: Echochrome
May: Elefunk
Late May / early June: WipEout HD

WipEout HD FTW. I can't wait for that game, what with me rocking a PS3 now (finally). Echochrome also looks pretty good.

Oh, and, erm, one piece of shovelware does not a 'boloney' service make. I'm planning on enjoying Dr. Mario & Virus Buster and StarSoldierR, among others, just as much as I plan on enjoying WipEout HD.

Supposedly, (according to Dylan Jobe), the PSN cards are coming very soon.

He even went so far as to say he's "seen" them already.

Do what I do, just use one of those "credit card" like gift cards from MasterCard or Visa, and pack your wallet with the amount on the card in the PS store.

actually, EON made a comment after Downie on the PS Forums, stating that they don't confirm nor deny that release date...so yah, there still hope for it.

Echnochrome looks amazing as is Pixel junk Monsters (albeit hard as hell)... I can't decide to get Echnochrome on PSP or PSN... Probably go for PSN b/c it will probably be cheaper...

its sad that PSN downloadable games are superior to Wii retail games in gameplay (Cell CPU >> Wii CPU), graphics, sound, and online play.

Agreed on PSN comparison to XBLA, but it is too early to compare it to WiiWare. We still have to wait what Nintendo has in their sleeves. I don't see anything special in their virtual console all of old games can be found in roms sites and more (Chrono Trigger).

All Sony have to do to enhance their online infrastructure a little bit more and soon it is going to pwn XboxLive
