Well it's not the first time a Daily Mail article stimulated my gag reflex:

http://tinyurl.com/32nrmz

I left a comment asking Anne to get in touch with me. Be interesting to see what she makes of another parent adopting an adversely conflicting viewpoint. My tolerance of the media blighting my past-temp préfère has now reached critical mass I'm afraid. It's time they started being held accountable for this poorly researched drivel they seem to pump out every time a slow news day rolls around.

I nearly coughed my breakfast up the other morning when I thought I was watching The Day Today and not GMTV. I guess they couldn't see the irony in having two little kids playing Manhunt 2 on live television to emphasise the dangers of kids playing violent games alone.

Fucktards.

Unbeknownst to the masses, I bet this broad has a crass gamertag, over 20k gamer points, and a real, real mean streak at GOW and Halo 3.

Anne diamond is a washed up has been who's just happily jumping on the "video games are evil" bandwagon to keep herself in the public eye a bit longer. Hello? All those games have an age rating. It should be the morons who buy these games for their kids who should be slated, NOT the games.

she used to be on tv-am (80's version of GMTV) like a thousand years ago. She should go away and shut up.

Synner :

If you're going to lump up global warming hysteria into the same category as video game hysteria, you have to be very careful to define what exactly you mean.

The scientific community as a whole agrees broadly about the effects of CO2 in the atmosphere. Namely, that *average* temperatures will increase as an effect. There are those who would try to minimize that fact, but if you do a little digging, they are in the minority, and more often than not, are funded by entities, governmental or corporate, that do not want to acknowledge climate change for obvious reasons.

But the fact that average temperatures will increase due to manmade CO2 doesn't correlate to warmer temperatures in a *specific* location. Nor does it necessarily have any bearing to hurricanes.

However, and this is an important point, just because those specific hypotheses are not proven, doesn't mean that treaties like Kyoto, which treat CO2 as a serious pollutant, are invalid... CO2 is a pollutant. If you dispute that, then you're misinterpreting what the scientific community has been saying.

As usual, the Daily Mail uses a credible source. Wikipedia quote:

"[Diamond] commented that a major advantage to East Germans of the fall of the Berlin Wall was the extended range of shops that they would now be able to visit."

Just stunning.

After reading the Daily Mail Article, I gave the following comment on their website. (I doubt it will be published, but what the hey!)

--------
I am very disappointed with this article. This report is factually inaccurate, scaremongering, and suggests a lack of research. All games have a rating, and this rating is used by outlets to determine who they will and will not sell the game to, according to the rating given.

As example, I will take the 'shocking' Resident Evil 4. The game does not involve a 'cataclysmic chemical attack' and Zombies do not roam the Earth. Ms. Diamond / Whoever wrote the game reviews would know these simple facts if they played the game for a maximum of 3 minutes from the start (This is not hyperbole, this is a fact).

The plot actually involves the kidnap of the American President's daughter and the subsequent search for her. This game encourages thoughts on the power of religion, the dangers of science, and the difficulties in fighting grass-roots terrorism.

The player does not even have to fight the majority of the unrealistic creatures, and can choose to run.

I'm disappointed.

--------

Would you guys agree with this article? Anyways. What the heck is with that pic! :D

i didnt look through all the comments but its a definite shop. If you look at the Dead Rising case once its above her shoulder its at a slight angle off from what it had been below her shoulder. Also her black under shirt has a very bad smudge effect right above the games, seems someone doesnt know how to blend well at all. There's also a couple other spots where you have small circular black shadows that dont make any sense other than a bad shop was done. Anyways i find it hard to take someones side that video games are evil when she's clearly so attached to them.
