After you've finished covering your toilet in plastic wrap before a loved one uses it (always hilarious), you can do some April Fool's Day unwinding tomorrow with a demo for Army of Two hitting Xbox Live. According to producer Matt Turner, the demo will include the training area of the game as well as the first level, which should should give you plenty of time to fist pound to your heart's content.
For those of you who've already picked up the game, Turner details some of the forthcoming DLC, saying, "1 new multiplayer map arriving as well as 2 new campaign maps in the not too distant future." Sounds great ... now, how about that little regional lockout problem?

Delayed just long enough to sell copies to unsuspecting consumers. I found the lack of checkpoints frustrating at first and after I had to play through 30 mins of game all over again I was ready to kick a cat...

Meh I'll give it a try. It's been getting somewhat decent reviews so it can't be all that bad.

Didn't particularly enjoy this game. Shoot. Run to point. Shoot, run to point, activate switch. Shoot.
Me and a buddy beat it on Co-Op this weekend. I really cant say enough that the 360 controller really hindered my enjoyment of this game as well. I still don't get why ppl say it is the end all of controllers?

Before the Classic Controller it was my fave standard console controller, the dpad ruins the 360 one. Still it's the best controller for a PC! Shame theres no precision like with the Wii but hey theres no direct pointing mechanism.

Fenix: Sorry? I forgot there is no fault with 360 in your eyes, I'll keep that in mind while posting...
Yea it's weird but I find the Dual Shock family more enjoyable than the Microsoft controllers. I do like the Classic Controller as well Mills, but it feels alot better with the Nyko controller piece attached to it when using the analogs.
But as for this game? Just very 7.0 in my opinion. The "cover" system needed a lil bit of refining too.

It's really not worth a purchase. I found the online play to not be fun (why not stick to Halo 3 or Call of Duty?) and the game can be completed pretty easily in one sitting. Well, that will unlock the harder difficulty, so then you can play through it again.
Seriously, 6 levels is short.

It's OK for the most part. The cover system is terrible. If you aren't a good distance away from the cover you can't take cover very well as you'll often slide over the cover and into the line of fire.
A good rent but I can't say I would buy it. Co-op would make me enjoy it a bit more but I've not tried it yet. I hate getting knocked down only to have my AI partner drag me around in a circle until the enemy kills him.

I agree with you that the cover really sux and I also couldnt stand the AI partner dragging you around not healing when he is supposed to.
I traded it in, never intend on playing it again and theres no way in hell I was gonna get that Retirement Savings Plan achievement where you earn a billion $ in MP. F#%@ NO!!! Not with that lagfest! =P
All in all its worth a spot in your Gamefly Q so you can run through it in maybe a week. There are so good moments in the game actually, especially in co-op with a buddy so I dont hate it.

Yeah, it's a rental at best. My brother and I played through it after we both got it in from Gamefly. It was OK, but it sort of forced the co-op aspect a little too much. For example, I hated when it would force you into back-to-back shootouts when there was obvious cover just a few feet away where you would be safer.

I'm not having these cover problems everyone is mentioning. I just walk up to cover, and duck, and don't seem to get hit. Neither is my girlfriend, who likes ninja-sliding around behind things all fancy-like.
I didn't play single-player, nor do I plan to, as I just don't think the AI will handle the co-op aspects of skirmishes properly.
To me, the cover system seemed like Gears of War, except not crappy, and I don't have to nail everyone in the head 7 times with the pistol, because its the only weapon that aims accurate enough to hit in the head. Yes, GoW, I know how to headshot. Ask any other FPS where I run around headshotting things methodically all day long... but you refuse to acknowledge them!

Whoa...so you're saying that this game is better than Gears? Seriously? Are you an EA rep or something? Even if they took Army of Two all the way back to the planning stage (which is what it would take to fix the myriad of fundamental problems it has,) there's no way it would reach the level of polish that Gears has.

I enjoyed the hell out of it personally. Air guitar solos, great AI (I don't care what anyone says, as long as you somewhat control your AI partner he is deadly efficient), cover vaulting (lookin at you Gears 2, better have it), and it isn't some super cerial war game. Sometimes it's nice to play a cheesy B action movie type game that doesn't take itself seriously. The guy who reviewed the game on Gamespot is insane, he basically just rambled on about how awful the real world is and didn't actually rate the game on what it was. Then again Gamespot is known for it's wild, radicalist reviews that don't really critique the game or it's features but instead what it doesn't have and that it sucks that it isn't a carbon copy of *insert best selling game here.*
Everyone should atleast rent this game for the co-op experience.

I won't go near this with a barge pole. Doesn't look nearly as good as TF2 and I'm sorry to say I won't waste a few hours away from it on something mediocre looking as this.

Mediocre looking? I fail to see how it looks mediocre; it's a great shooter for the 360 and worth a play through.
Honestly I don't play TF2 on anything but my PC, I do happen to have the Orange Box on my 360 though, just so much better on the PC.
Also.. "I won't go near this with a barge pole?" Well good sir if you are in fear of breaking the game because you are wielding a barge pole you could perchance set your barge pole aside for a moment to enjoy the game.
I can't believe people just accept what they are feed so easily but I guess if the average person didn't there would be chaos and anarchy.

@ Mills: Yes, a lot of people rent games. People who are 'serious gamers' should consider getting a gamefly acct or equivalent, if they don't already.
You may not like AoT, and that is fair. You can even hate it for no reason, and that's your choice. But, why are you comparing it to TF2? Those are completely different games!

Even though it's not that expensive to rent a game, I'd still like a LIVE demo first.
Still, your review intrigues me. The air guitar, fist-pounding ridiculousness of this game sounds like a nice bit of comic relief.

Hopefully they'll release a patch that replaces the awful writing/voice acting with simple voice clips from the Lethal Weapon films...this game got traded back in after a week. I'd rather they reconstruct a braindead story from the Lethal Weapon clips than to have to listen to such poorly-scripted drivel as:
"Yeah, that missile could do some serious damage."
This game made the writing for Gears of War seem like Oscar-worthy stuff. Not that I didn't love GoW, but c'mon...the gameplay mechanics should've just been applied to a Wii game. Done.
At least they had air guitar.

Anticrawl: You're trying too hard.
BST: I probably would've taken my copy back the same night, but I didn't get to play it until two days after purchase. At least you made it in the next day...I think by keeping it as long as I did, it lost some significant trade-in value.
*Chuckles at the thought of quote 'trade-in value' in relation to Gamestop*

Worst game ever. Seriously, read the negative reviews as well as the positives, they are the truthful ones. Any 70% and up are paid for. Sucks harder than Linda Lovelace in a sucking competition with a black hole. I would give it 4/10. And if you are thinking about getting this for multi player don't, it's so broken its un-usable.

It's interesting to see the reactions this game elicits. Most of the defenders enjoyed it, but know that it's not good enough to get really defensive about (I seem to hear a lot of "kinda fun" and "pretty good" statements,) and the detractors really fucking hate it. I, personally, am in the latter camp. It's been a while since I've played a game for an hour and a half and had zero minutes of fun doing so. Oh, I take that back...the one my friend and I spent smacking eachother around was mildly amusing. *Mildly*

This game really is quite decent with co-op. Remember the games you used to play as a kid with a buddy you rented for a weekend? Crap like Rival Turf, Final Fight, and whatever other beat 'em up. This is along those lines, to me. Not a fantastic game overall, but pretty decent and there's plenty of fun to have.
I rented it from GF and I'll probably end up buying it when it's $25 or so, but to dismiss it is a bit harsh. Maybe it does stink with 1 player, but with 2 just grab some beers, kill a ton of people, and air guitar your way across the battlefield with your gold-plated assault rifle.

Most people that hate this game played it by themselves. Most people that like it, played it in co-op.
I have actually really enjoyed but I have played co-op only. I actually like the cheesy 80's plot. It is like a cross between Commando & Lethal Weapon. If you take it seriously, then yeah the plot is dumb. But, if you take it as a campy, 80's action movie plot then it is f-ing great.
Nice co-op play + gold guns + air guitar in the middle of a massive fire fight = win

I played it through, got to China on Pro and got pissed off with it. £7 trade in later, and I'm the proud owner of Viking: Battle for Asgard, which is a LOT more fun. DLC would in no way have convinced me to keep it. One play through is fun. Not after that, so a rental at best.

I would love more campaign content, because this game was way to short and multiplayer sucks.
