Role-playing fans can slip on their dancing shoes and party like it's 1991. A new interview with Final Fantasy IV director Takashi Tokita in the latest Nintendo Power seems to point to the game's recent DS remake being localized for North American audiences. Oh sure, he doesn't come right out and confirm the localization -- where's the drama in that? -- but given that the article comes peppered with English language screens and the game itself is featured on the cover, we're certainly leaning towards believing that the RPG will soon be getting some domestic love.Tokita also toys with our emotions, speaking to the possibility of a remake of SNES RPG classic Chrono Trigger provided "the demand is great enough." Though like coming down hard off a caffeine high, he sends us crashing back down to earth by adding that he really wants to "create new titles and not just series installments and remakes." Yours is a cruel love, mon cher.

VI is by far the best FF ever been made, then there comes VII, IV, II, V, X, I, X-2, VIII, XII, III, IX, and hopes that XIII takes VI place, or at least IV, on my FF top list
Final Fantasy VI > Final Fantasy IV > Final Fantasy VII
...argh! Random battles every 6 steps???? God its so annoying? Walk down a secret corridor and have 20 random battles with the same 2 groups of enemies!?
I've never played a game that feels so much like hard work. I loved chrono trigger, but that didn't have the excess of random battles and the battles themselves felt more tactical.
After 2 tries, and a week of trying to force myself to keep playing I'm gonna admit defeat, and until Chrono trigger comes out on the DS i'm gonna check out Fire Emblem, which supposedly has the cool story of FF but without the time wasting battles.
(not meant as a bash.. just letting out my frustration at not being able to enjoy what i'm sure i a great story).

I'm at the Tower now and I'm hoping the game doesn't become the grindfest that FF3 was. What a disappointment that last mega castle was.

Disregard everything I just said, apart from the FF3 sucks comment.
The boss of the castle was so, so much weaker than practically everything beyond the point, the leveling to beat him nowhere near met the qualifications to clear that last part
needless to say, I gave up
That and 3/4 of the story was removed from the game so it would fit on the cartridge/budget.
FF4 on DS is going to be sweet.
I'm probably going to hell for that one...
Me too! That's great! We can chill out together, then!
See you in Hell, Sheppy!

Anyone know where I can get an emulator and game online?

Rule number two about emulation: you do NOT ask about emulation!
...never heard of it.
i kid!
Anyway, this excites me, I loved the old Final Fantasy games and the remake love is amazing.
Though Chrono Trigger would be the one and only game to actually get my pre-order for any sort of limited edition and waiting in line to get at hour zero. I still love that game more than anything!!!

the last line, specifically
In case you didn't know, Chris Grant pretty much runs this site. So I think he knows what's up.
Anyway, if it's completely by accident, or some strange elaborate April Fools thing you guys have today, I like it. It's fun.

I would love to see it remade next gen style. Though a new one in the series wouldn't be completely horrible.
Actually, Chrono Cross in general is just a remake of Radical Dreamers.
Not that I wouldn't love to play a new one again though. Chrono Cross had a pretty deep story, and I really dug the soundtrack, holy shit it was amazing. Just from the opening scene (I think) with the violin, badass.
And some of the characters stuck with me from it, just not the way the original cast did. I really liked Glen for some reason, his combos with Chrono were just so cool.
