We're happy that we're not going to have to wait to much longer, but it's also nice to see a major release in the heart of the summer. If only more publishers would realize that dropping a fun oasis into the summer desert could translate into a lot of extra attention (and dollars) for them.

Isn't really "Gears of war esque".
Rainbow six vegas uses a similar cover system and that was released only 5 days after the original gears.
but yeh I know what you mean.

I got to play with the latest build of the game yesterday for about 35 minutes. I have to say, I'm impressed. The game isn't without it's flaws but overall I had a really good time with it. You can check out my full write up here:

Well... hopefully it'll be good. It looks good, but then again so does Iron Man, but I really doubt either will be.

the only thing that worriess me is how many gameplay mechanics there are...it always seems the games that try to hard end up bieng dull....or "half finished"

The game has a very high production value. I'm shocked that Sierra didn't just drop another million to get Damon's mug on the box and in the game. Otherwise it looks very cool...but come on Sierra!
