EA scraps Madden '09 on PC

American Football fans will have to turn to one of of their consoles or portables to get their next Madden fix, as Peter Moore has revealed EA's cancellation of Madden '09 on PC, citing "serious business challenges" in releasing sports titles on home computers.

The title will still appear on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, DS and PSP, leaving PC Madden fans feeling a bit left out. Moore notes that Madden '09 is not the only PC title receiving the axe, and that it represents a larger decision by EA Sports to cut back on their number of PC releases. It's unknown if EA will continue to release future versions of Madden on the PC, or if this is the end of Madden on the PC altogether. Luckily, gamers can still experience the latest iteration of EA's flagship sports franchise on a plethora of platforms. Just not on the computer.

Heres two things most of you dont get: A. you cant play madden online unless you have a valid registration code, so the problem isn't pirating for madden on PC. B. EA has an exclusive license from the NFL and NFLPA, so its not like 2K can make a football game to fill the void. It can be argued that the best iteration of Madden is on PC, Next Gen is slow and PS2 has crappy graphics. This cancellation is a mistake. There's a huge community of Madden players who will be left in the cold

I noticed this got some play around the gamer blogs but honestly, who plays sports game on a PC? This is a none issue and hardly a blow to PC gaming. Keep the frat boy games where they belong, on the console. Besides it makes a much better beer coaster, no?

you no i think its f up that thay wont be bringing madden 09 to pc i think the game play is more real life like people that talk down on the pc madden dont know what they r talking about i ben playing madden from when it first came out back in the old days up in till now days i use a 52in lcd 1080p tv as my mont and i have 2 gforce9800 and a 128physx and madden looks dam good in 1080p but you down talkers r playing it in 480p you will never no you just got to spend the money and you will like it so yall keep on paying 64 for xbox games and ps3 ill stick with my 30 08madden that looks better then xbox and ps3 ripoff will ever look so ill just keep updateing my roster
