Rumor: Halo movie has a new script

Last we heard, the big-budget, big screen adaptation of Halo was undeniably and reliably dead. But if a Latino Review source is to be believed, it may have another shot, thanks to a fresh script by Stuart Beattie, the same fellow working on Spy Hunter, Splinter Cell and Gears of War flicks for several studios. It's reportedly called Halo: Fall of Reach, based on the novel of the same name.

Now, even if this story is true, this is just a guy writing a script (albeit a well-known guy), so we're not about to change the film's status to "mostly dead." But if you need to do that in your heart to make your day a bit easier to bear, we completely understand.

if this is based on the Fall of Reach novel, and isn't fucked up, it could possible become my favorite Sci Fi movie of all time. I loved that book so much, and wish the games were more like it.

Yeah I remember reading the novel before even playing Halo and I loved it. Something about the book was so incredibly captivating that I loved it.

Not exactly hope, I believe the old movie died because no studio would take it, and scripts are written all the time

If they do the movie based on the novel, then you're talking a series of movies. And yeah, it is definitely the RIGHT decision, because the novels are far better than the game, even if they are still pretty much pulp trash (which is my steady diet of scifi and fantasy).
