Warhawk gets patched up today

If you've tried to play Warhawk since about 6 a.m. EST today, you've probably been a bit unnerved, perhaps even alarmed by your inability to access the game. But take heart! Your sacrifice will be rewarded after 12 p.m. today when you find that patch 1.3 has gone live.

What does 1.3 mean to you? Well how's about a Bio-Reactive Field Generator? How does that grab you? How about ... you know what? It's in the video. Just watch that. We're busy unlearning French.

Kudos to Incognito for continuing to support this AWESOME PSN game.

I still hope that they release a SINGLE player campaign at some point. I want to be able to attack those Star Destroyer sized ships that they showed back at E3 2006.

They said they would do it if enough people wanted it.

Putting those monster ships in multi-player would be cool too. Think about it, you could have say 20 players inside the massive ship running from gunsite to gunsite, missle batteries, shooting at attacking Warhawks or another Cruiser.
Maybe it might have squadrons of Warhawks that could take off and land inside the Cruiser.

Also, we finally get Open-Mic! I'll actually start using my headset now. (Never used it before - having to press L3 everytime I wanted to talk was too annoying.)

Plus we're getting a whole load of new Warhawk paint schemes, which is cool.

It'll be interesting to see how the two new weapons will affect people's tactics and teamwork.

I like the push-to-talk. It means you don't need to be as careful about tv volume or proximity and there's not some jerk breathing straight into the mic for the whole match.

I wish there was push to talk for COD4. I end up not using my mic for most games because it seems to pick up lots of sound in the room or grenade explosions from the TV, which is just annoying for everyone else.

Yeah, but when I have to push down on the left analogue stick my thumb tends to slip off. Which is bad when you're in the middle of a shoot-out or firefight.

Lmao, why not? Actually I prefer super glue, but sticky tape often does the job. Simply stick your fingers to the buttons, that way they can't slip :) lol

Just buy a PSEYE. You no longer need headsets. The Eye can distinguish FOUR sepertate voices at the same time. And let me tell you it is VERY sensitive, it can pick up another confersation in my house at normal audible levels from 20+ feet away.

Joystiq understands that PS3 threads (especially ones with slightly suggestive to fanboy Wars titles) get the MOST HITS.

Some HATE Sony, most do not. But PS3 threads are GOLD here. So Joystiq does what it needs to for hits. I do not blame them one bit.

I am not blindly obsessed with Sony. A fair amount of my fanboyish statements are meant for banter. Sony is just like every other mega corp out there, greedy. It just so happens due to the franchises that So the Playstation brand has are the ones I most enjoy. So, I buy Playstation.

because you are. It's action! action! action! in a game of Warhawk. Airbattles, groundbattles, air vs. ground battles all the freaking time.

Because when the servers go back up, there will be a jeep dashing out of the enemy base with a tank and 3 warhawks on his tail.

Because when the servers go back up a group of soliders stocked up on missiles will be the saviors holding ground against a onslaught of Tanks and Warhawks to win a Zones victory.

Dear god the patch can't come out fast enough!

You know, I was hyped for this game. Looked like a solid party game to have. I bought it on launch and... didn't like anything. I didn't like the controls, I didn't like the maps, didn't like the weapons, didn't like the vehicles. Can't really explain why, either. Maybe I just didn't put in enough time to get used to the controls. It really sucks that there are no bots to practice on, for one.

Oh well.

Make sure you play on the Level 1 servers. It only allows players of lower rank.

Yeah, I guess I should have explained that better. Every host has the option to set a Max Rank. The official dedicated Sony servers (Blue ones) are split into "4 levels". If you look at the name of the server, you will see something like (Lv.1) at the end of it.

After you highlight that server, look to the server settings at the right part of the screen. You will see the Max Rank setting and a Rank (Private, Sergeant, etc..). As long as you are under that, you can join those servers.
