I can understand why on a PC. Game systems don't have the overhead of a do-all operating system; although the PS3 almost does. Either way, consoles are not PCs and only gaming devices; thus, consoles should not require and installation except for a memory card type of save which takes seconds.

Well the big guy at M$ even said that 3 of the top 10 games out WILL NOT fit on the 360!

Soo ill take a install over being stuck in an old formate any day. And mind you we are not even half way into the life span of these two gaming systems.

So by this time next year the debate will be"what do want a HDD install or to have to deal with multi disc game BS".
I dont know about you but this seems like a step back for me. Remember when GTA was loadless for the first time? And how much we all raved at the idea.
And now not only dose the Xbox have longer load times(off the disc vs HDD) but we will be tossed back into the stone age so to speak of multi disk......LAME!!!!

I honestly don't mind the installs, but Sony: you HAVE to make a SKU with more capacity than 80 GB! If the PS3 is going to truly be an all-encompassing media machine, we need more room than 40, 60, or 80 GB.

For the record, I just bought a 500 GB 2.5" just for this purpose. Sure wish it was 7200 rpm, though.
