Back then it was just "OMG, this is new media for Halo 3! Consume!" You didn't have to worry about what you wrote because you knew no one was reading it. Check some of those old jams out, we bet half of them are just "All work and no play makes Joystiq a dull boy" over and over again. In fact, we're feeling so nostalgic for those halcyon days that we're about to go old school and leave this post with a completely underwhelming ending.

Don't worry, I'll consume any GTA4 info no matter how worthless it is. I'm obsessed!

Well I don't have lag anymore so I can PWN again but I already bought the Heroic map so I guess I'll wait until this one is released for free.
Is just me of Halo 3 is starting to look I don't kind of dated.

I love sidewinder, but gussying up an old map and selling it for 10$ alongside of two other maps is disappointing. Should be called Legendary Cop-out imo.
Posted: Apr 3rd 2008 5:05PM (Unverified) said
i heard that the new sidewinder is really more in the same vein as how Guardian was lockout. It's about the same, but not really

Agreed. Two remakes and one new map doesn't = $10.
Let me be clear - I'm a big fan of Halo 3. I'm a big fan of Bungie. I HIGHLY suspect the pricing of their map packs had absolutely nothing to do with Bungie. I'm quite certain it's all Microsoft. I'm certain MS is trying to squeeze every penny it can out of Halo 3, and frankly, I'm a little bothered by it. If these maps go free, I'll get them then, and then buy the next map pack. I'm not against paying for new maps - I'm against overpaying for new maps.

As with anything Halo, it's a day 1 purchase x 4 for me. My entire family plays and enjoys the game.

I'm getting really sick of this remake BS. It's still a DLC map. What, is the alternative to magically transfer the Lockout data from H2 into your Halo 3 game? Is that what makes it a ripoff? No that's not possible so stop complaining about. They're both new maps you can play in Halo 3, they WERE built from scratch for this game, they DO incorporate new elements (improved physics and gameplay, or the map changes from Sidewinder), and Bungie DOES need to be compensated for their efforts.
If you want to play them for free you can shut up and wait a few months or you can go back to Halo 1 or 2. I don't need you in my matchmaking anyway.

Yeah, Bungie says so themselves on their website frequently. So you can't really blame them.

The game itself was the biggest let down since it was incomplete.
3 big team levels from release?(1 of which is a remake)
Dream on 360/MS lovers. Take any BS from them proudly.
Oh you got your heroic pack? Game is just barely complete after 3 years then...

Knight Marquise,
If by "atmosphere" you mean marketing buzz, then yes, you're absolutely right.

I'm mostly concerned about their current naming convention. Assuming that they are using the names of the difficulties from the Halo games; then they will have run out names after Legendary!
They will have to call the next one, the "Easy map pack! This is a crisis!

They are actually going by the ranks on their forums, meaning that the next one will be "Mythic map pack". After that, though, I'm not sure. "Moderator" map pack and "Bungie Employee" map pack don't really have that ring to them, ya know?

Im pretty sure halo is not even close to being forgotten... and remakes of old maps is what the majority of halo players wanted anyway...
also you do realize that as fun as call of duty is online its not anywhere close to being competitive... thats why people will always play halo.

Ignoring the negative comments I have to say I'm excited about the map pack. Day 1 purchase for me!
Posted: Apr 3rd 2008 5:49PM (Unverified) said
Halo 3 had a $130 version with a cat-helmet. People bought it.
And a $80 version with some artwork stills or something.
$20 for 6 additional maps, you don't think most people would have bought that if they'd sold it at the beginning?
It's the matchmaking that sucks about DLC. There are only 5,000 players in DLC matchmaking and they're all generals and brigadiers.

Is it just me or were there a couple of moments in there where you saw a Hornet? They're one of the vehicles I've been itching to play in MP. Mind you, I've only picked Halo 3 up once or twice since I played CoD4 MP, so I don't think I'll be picking these up regardless.
