Check out indie art game 'The Graveyard'
We're of the sound opinion that not enough games let you control feeble old women on the verge of death. Thankfully, here comes The Graveyard, an art game by IGF-winning developer Tale of Tales, which places players in the role of an elderly woman visiting a cemetery.
The game is incredibly short and simple, but gorgeously rendered, and features a somber, original song as an interlude to the "gameplay." The free version is only a trial, and you can pay a measly five dollars USD for the full game. The only difference? In the full game the old woman may die.

Why do people think "somber + deals with death = art".
Arguments about art notwithstanding, this is a complete non-game and fails in all interactive and technical aspects.

tried it a few weeks ago. it was cool. i refused to pay the $5 because I didn't want her to die.

I just downloaded it and thought WTF did I just waste bandwidth for? I'm trying to figure out how this can be classified as a "game".

also to be honest this didn't really move me. not as much as that game Passage did.

This is a crappy press release with mild commentary to something that is only labeled a game so that lazy bloggers will talk about it.
Here are some links to other things that are also not games and more worthy of your time than this POS.

So what do you do?
What's the conflict?

Game of the year?
At any rate, it's head and shoulders above regurgitated trip like Smash Bros.

Boring.
I figured the trial version wouldn't offer much pull to buy the full - after all it's free - but then I read closer on the site and - that IS the 'game'? Except she can die? I suppose that means dying naturally.
This struck me as more of an interactive movie than a game, and since when are graphics like that 'gorgeously rendered'? Black and white automatically makes fairly bland 3d models look gorgeous?
There's no draw for this at all. As a short indie movie it looks pretty cool, but when you attach the label of 'game' to this it fails to impress.

well that was a waste of time... lighting looked nice though

I kept waiting for zombies to pop out of the ground to drag her under while you tap c to smack them in the head with your cripple cane skills... needless to say I was disappointed.
Fredd @ Apr 4th 2008 3:53PM
I dont feel bad anymore. I kept thinking the same thing and needless to say I was disappointed no zombies popped out bummer.
LaughingTarget @ Apr 4th 2008 4:16PM
Hey, paying $5 to kill an old lady is cheap, unless something else does her in, then I'll feel ripped.
NATO_Duke @ Apr 4th 2008 4:45PM
I just don't get it. If we pay then she just has a heart atach and drops dead or something? Are we supposed to just be scared of being in a graveyard? It didn't come across as scary at all to me - so many other games have made a graveyard creepier.
NATO_Duke @ Apr 4th 2008 4:46PM
um -*attack

This game is severely lacking Falcon Punches, headshots, or lesbian space aliens. Very disappointing.

I don't know about you guys, but i liked it. Especially when she accelerates to 88 MPH and escapes the terrorists

This is a late April Fool's joke right? The only good part is the ability to make her Moonwalk. Try it, it's fun!
StrangeAxel @ Apr 5th 2008 1:01AM
Yeah uhm... Downloaded it, and she walks in place with the gate still staring you in the face. Fun.
