Well I didn't pay for the OXM disk anyway =).
Jomolungma @ Apr 4th 2008 3:35PM
Well, sucks for those that already have the songs. Me thinks that HMX chose last week and this week to be light on the DLC to allow for the PS3 folks to get over their Playstation store issues. Of course, this week's songs were only previously available on an OXM disc, and thus unavailable to PS3-ers. Such are the little ironies of life.
baby sea tuna @ Apr 4th 2008 3:35PM
HAha, I remember on an OXM podcast where they swore up and down that those song were 100% exclusive and would *never* end up on the marketplace. Right.
Well, at least that Freezepop song is okay...if you're into that sort of thing.
THE WICKER MAN (BWF) (GT: Dalek Prime) @ Apr 4th 2008 3:38PM
they did say that. poor overpriced oxm and its cell phone ads section. bought the issue anyway and loves me some freezepop. Im glad though i dont think that was too fair to the ps3 owners, and i believe everyone should be able to enjoy all the songs.
GreyFox @ Apr 4th 2008 5:22PM
That YouTube video is shit really the actual song plays and sounds much better in game.
God that video is awful...
Drew @ Apr 4th 2008 3:36PM
If I had Rock Band on the PS3 I would be pissed. The DLC makes this game.
Martez @ Apr 4th 2008 3:42PM
If I had Rock Band on the PS3 I would be pumped that the store is finally going to be decent.
Tiptup300 @ Apr 5th 2008 12:22AM
This DLC isn't much to brag about. :(
Bretters @ Apr 4th 2008 3:37PM
wow... I thought these were exclusive. I spent $10 on a shitty magazine to get these.
Number_Zero @ Apr 4th 2008 4:04PM
You could've just asked for a disk replacement from OXM and got the disk for free like I did =P.
cjshrader @ Apr 4th 2008 4:53PM
I tried that, Number_Zero, and it didn't work for me :(
Kizzle @ Apr 4th 2008 3:38PM
Weak as hell. This week gets a pass since it was free, but this will be two weeks in a row where they're offering either stuff already available or one single song.
They need to get back on the horse, pronto. Prior to April HMX were doing really well with this stuff. I hope this means Who's Next and Nevermind are finally coming soon...maybe they're just dicking us around with a few flimsy weeks before the heavy hitters arrive
Doc @ Apr 4th 2008 3:41PM
indeed bring on the full albums! Both of those are on my watch list!
Sir Fidlious Wong (Zeon Defense Force) @ Apr 4th 2008 3:44PM
I... I... I'm trying to complain about the lack of steady stream on DLC.... but I just can't. They've been too steady with it.
Lack of albums suck but the announced albums weren't exactly making me jump for joy.
Doc @ Apr 4th 2008 3:39PM
I love that rock band has been true to it's weekly releases, but I'm almost getting used to saying..."there's always next week". I'd even be down for a "funky" pack of disco just for the laugh factor with friends. She's a brick house would be funny shit at a party! And I normally hate disco, but don't look past the fun side of things.
deaftly @ Apr 4th 2008 3:42PM
Damn! I didn't even know this was on the Feb Disc. I never use those damn things.
THE WICKER MAN (BWF) (GT: Dalek Prime) @ Apr 4th 2008 3:42PM
bang camaro song has some fun guitar on it too.
THE WICKER MAN (BWF) (GT: Dalek Prime) @ Apr 4th 2008 3:45PM
Oh how spoiled we fanboys have become. I can think back to gh 1 and how we had to wait a WHOLE YEAR for new songs. I understand where your comming from and often find myself saying the same thing though. Either way they have put out new stuff every week (130+ songs?) and thats far better than the almost vaporwareish promises of Gh2 on the 360. It does suck that I already have these and paid 10 for em.
ElegantJihad @ Apr 4th 2008 3:48PM
lol printed media
paulzy @ Apr 4th 2008 3:54PM
Thank you PS3 for not getting you spit together so we have to suffer through some nonsense like this.
Sir Fidlious Wong (Zeon Defense Force) @ Apr 4th 2008 4:23PM
So.... when the store is constantly bitched about, Fuck Sony! Rahr!
When the store prevents updates for two weeks (due to go up on the 17th) so that it can be revised to a much better, non webbased, solution, Fuck Sony!
I swear... some of you people.... Kuturugi could finance you some Client 9 style treatment while giving you $10,000 and you'd still fucking bitch.
Farseer (GDI) @ Apr 4th 2008 4:34PM
paulzy, that comment was terrible on so many levels...
paragraph @ Apr 4th 2008 3:56PM
Freezepop.....
I think i just ruined a box a kleenex....
MUST PLAY SUPER SPRODE!!!!!!!! MUST!!!!
/me foams at mouth
I was wondering if that song would make it out of Amplutude alive...
aristokrat @ Apr 4th 2008 5:12PM
The Amplitude and ablum versions of this song are cooler. It's somehow different in this DLC and sounds kind of strange.
why not the LS2LS7? @ Apr 4th 2008 7:35PM
"album version" is kind of misleading. Super Sprøde isn't on any of their albums. It's on a remix EP though.
Jody Anthony (cookingrebels.com) @ Apr 4th 2008 3:58PM
i enjoy freezepop and find liz enthusiasm very attractive.
Shagittarius @ Apr 4th 2008 4:12PM
pass
rawkersparadise @ Apr 4th 2008 4:12PM
gosh got to feel bad for the folks who are bidding on this on ebay right now
http://cgi.ebay.com/Official-XBOX-Magazine-Demo-Disc-80-OXM-360-Rock-Band_W0QQitemZ330223683157QQihZ014QQcategoryZ122517QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
almost wonder if they decided to release them in the rockband store because of the big after market for the demo disc. I know I sold my demo disc one week ago for 15 dollars on ebay.
ChooChooCharlie (Brawl: 1504-5357-9285) @ Apr 4th 2008 4:33PM
Man, that Count Zero song is very disappointing. I liked some of their stuff in the previous games, but I just find this one to be awful.
Oh well, at least the other two songs next week will make up for this dud.
cjshrader @ Apr 4th 2008 4:45PM
Oh DAMN IT
I just ordered a backissue of this magazine a week ago for $10, just for the Freezepop song.
Oh you got me Rock Band, you just got me.
cjshrader @ Apr 4th 2008 4:50PM
Here's where they first announced this CD:
http://www.oxmonline.com/article/features/presses/free-rock-band-songs
I sure see the word EXCLUSIVE and the word ONLY in there a whole lot. In caps.
THIS IS NOT A TRIUMPH
aristokrat @ Apr 4th 2008 5:13PM
Wow, good thing I didn't wait any longer to sell my disc on eBay, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to make up the price that I spent on that stupid rag.
Dangerdork @ Apr 4th 2008 5:25PM
um, isn't still alive already out??
Chairman7 @ Apr 4th 2008 5:45PM
Yes the boys from the OXM podcast were vehement that the only way to get these tracks was through the magazine. Over a number of weeks they ridiculed their cynical readers who had the audacity to suggest that it might not be exclusive.
OXM Podcast Credibility = Falling sharply.
rawkersparadise @ Apr 4th 2008 6:09PM
someone actually bid up on the ebay auction for the demo disc. I guess gi joe were right, knowing is half the battle.
Mox @ Apr 4th 2008 6:31PM
I'm not kidding when I say that Rock Rebellion is one of my favorite songs in all of Rock Band. The solo at the end is epic. God-- I have to go play it right now.
modified @ Apr 4th 2008 6:40PM
You'd have to pay me a $1 to play along with these songs.
T @ Apr 4th 2008 7:36PM
*reads article*
I only spent $6 on the magazine (for whatever reason they rang it up at the same price as another item I was buying) so I wasn't as Super Screwed as some of the people here...
But this is none the less disappointing. I went out and did something to support a pack of songs I wanted, and this is how they thank me. Oh well. The next time OXM gets a disc nobody will buy it.
The funny thing is there was an issue of OXM that had a disc that included the Halo theme for GHIII. The same Halo tune that had been released for free months before.
Perhaps they should find a way to give compensation to those who already have the content.
EMOruffino @ Apr 5th 2008 1:26PM
i think their there for people who dont have highspeed. remember there are still places in the us where highspeed assholes don't put line down one particular road.
Terrence Newton @ Apr 5th 2008 8:43AM
sweet.. first, one week where there is only one new song to download (who cares that its free), then the next week three songs that i already have 'cause i bought the stupid oxm (for much more than the $3 it costs to download the song pack). let's put aside the fact that these 3 songs are truly new to PS3 owners. is this a sign of the faltering of the mighty rock band dlc machine? hopefully the slack will be picked up in the following weeks.. full album downloads anyone? hello?
EMOruffino @ Apr 5th 2008 1:23PM
that was one of the last OXM's i received before ending my subscription.
poor OXM, just cant relate to you anymore.
spekk @ Apr 6th 2008 5:51PM
i would call those who purchased the demo disc just for the exclusive songs pathetic if my roommates and i hadn't just purchased another copy of the rock band disc just so we wouldn't have to wait 4-6 weeks for them to replace a scratched one... :(
rock band, i am your bitch.
