Saints Row 2 pimp slaps consoles Aug. 26

The pimps, hoes and other assorted citizens of Saints Row are ready to return August 26 on Xbox 360 and PS3. IGN reports the release date was announced at THQ's Gamers' Day event held in San Francisco. The official Saints Row 2 website is now up and blinged to the nines with ghetto fabulousness.

Late August seems like enough breathing room between SR2 and GTA IV to give the game a chance. Then again, depending on how over-the-top Saints Row 2 ends up being, it could carve out its own niche. We're just looking forward to some co-op play, because you gotta have friends to survive in the ghetto ... and a pimp hat, yeah, we're gonna need big pimp hats.

I'm sorry stupidgame but I don't believe you even know anyone who lives that lifestyle. Come on man, don't believe everything you see on TV. And anyway, no one says "We be bustin' caps" anymore...lol

For those owning 360s - just curious, if you had to choose, would you would go for GTA4 DLC (better game, but more of the same thing) or spend your money on Mercenaries 2 / Daint's Row 2?

Why is Gta 4 a better game then saints row 2? Right now SR2 is looking to be the better game based on track history. SR 1 was leaps and bounds better then any GTA game. Although GTA4 might be really well done with the added multiplayer modes. Lets see if saints row 2 improves upon #1 and ramps up the multiplayer.

I dont see why so many ar trashing this game? Saints row is to gta like skate is to tony hawk. A better series. theres hardly anybody who likes GTA over saints row, that has actually played through both games.

Hi. I've played all the GTA games. I've played Saints Row. Saints Row isn't bad, but it sure isn't better than any of the GTA games.

GTA4 is looking like it'll be scores better than SR2. SR2 is a good way to get your sandbox game fill in between GTA games.

You love HIP HOP. Especially with the group of artists u listed. Scroll back to the group that Fenix listed. Those are Southern Rap artisits. Big difference. Just like all the West Coast artists are a big difference, but closer related to the south.

Having said all that, this cover art does look lame as hell.

When will we be blessed to get another BlackStar album?

Every new thing i see about this game it just continues to nose dive on the shitty-ness scale. At this rate it's going to blow by the first 50 Cent game in about 2 more videos and a handful of screenshots. I mean that screenshot or art or w/e it is almost made my head explode when I saw it.

I suggest you guys watch the trailer with gary busey in it and you'll see how laughable this game is gonna be.

GTA's coming out this month, and the first big DLC will be out by the time this POS comes out so there's no reason why anyone should *want* to play this.

The original Saints Row was a nice diversion in it's time, I'll admit that, but with GTAIV coming out, why bother?

looking forward to this one, I finished saints row 1 and it was alot of fun. I have yet to beat San Andreas, I lost interest around 50 hours in.. :/
