Saints Row 2 settles on August release
19
Purple color lovers and gangster wannabes, it's time to get ready. Because Saints Row 2 is headed your way this Summer with THQ's announcement that the sequel will hit retailers this August 26th. And as much as we want to say we're excited and are eagerly anticipating its release, we always come back to the fact that Grand Theft Auto IV releases this month. Maybe we're wrong to think that, maybe not and maybe it's just the harsh reality of things. We'll give it time though, play GTAIV through August and see if our Saints Row 2 itch needs to be scratched then.

I'll definately be picking up SR2, and I really enjoyed Saints Row, however, I can't help but think that the timing isn't very good.
Hell, if DLC for GTA IV is announced withint that time frame, I think it would seriously hurt the games sales.

I loved the improvements in Saints Row over GTA3 (esp. the pathfinder and targeting). Can't wait for SR2.

I'm torn on SR2. I loved the first, single player was good and multi was great (Blinged Out Ride been the highlight), plus with 2 having co-op that's another plus point. But it's still pretty close to GTAIV and it might be a letdown in comparison to it. I'll probably get it at some point, just not sure when.

not too close for me to GTA4. I'll be playing GTA4 all through May, June, July, and most of August. I'll be ready for SR2 by then. I never get tired of these style of games when they are done right (which GTA & SR seem to be the only two series that has).

I love this type of game, and will pick it up first day.
Weird that a FPS releases every week and no one seems to mind, but woah woah, GTAIV comes out a few months before another sandbox game, can't have that...

I don't think the quality of a game is measured by how long it took you to beat it. I had a blast with Saints Row and with the co-op in Saints Row 2 I can honestly saw I'm looking forward to it more than GTAIV. I'll end up getting both though.

Saint Row to me had a way better sense of humor than the GTA games, which made it a far more enjoyable experience for me. I hope they keep the ragdoll physics and freckle bitches stuff. I get bored in GTA games, as I have no desire to be a gangster. I'll still be picking up both though and I think that is just enough time in between...

They better do something special with the MP because the originals blew. Listening to white racist wannabe gangsters and suffering through the brain dead, simplicity death match formula, was enough for me, once.

I wish it would come out sooner 4 months is just too long. GTA4 will be a great game but I'm not getting it because i have just fallen in love with character customization. I won't more options. I can't wait for it to hit stores.
