Telltale finally confirmed to GameSpot that Sam & Max's first season is coming to the Wii this fall. Rumors of Sam & Max bringing their freelance form of policing to the Wii began in early 2007 and became pseudo-confirmed this January in a German press release. The game will be a port of the Sam & Max: Season One PC compilation.
Sam & Max for Wii will be published in the US by Dreamcatcher and The Adventure Company. In Europe, JoWood will handle publishing duties of the game, which will have French and German voice acting, with Italian and Spanish subtitles added. No word yet on price for the title, but if it does end up being budget priced (PC was $30), we're very curious to see if this excellent adventure game finds an audience on the Wii.
[Thanks Sam]

Basically, the Sam & Max games are really funny. The puzzle gameplay is very traditional adventure-game stuff, which you'll either like or not (hint: you're usually trying to find the right items or ask the right questions to get to the next stage of the puzzle).
I played the original adventure game on DOS back in like '94 and loved it, though, so maybe I'm a little biased.

If you think Invader Zim is funny, then you'll probably love Sam & Max (which, in my opinion, is MUCH funnier.)

The Wii is perfect for adventure games, just like the DS. I'll definitely play this.

It had better sell well!
Maybe if it does we might see some classic lucasarts adventure games released on the Wii (or the DS, or both!).
Grim Fandango, Day of the Tentacle, Full throttle, etc.. would all rock on both platforms.

Except that LucasArts don't own the rights to the Sam & Max franchise now (except for Hit The Road) so really there's probably no chance whatsoever.

I've been off and on thinking about buying this game, but I guess I'll wait for the Wii version.

I knew there was a good reason for holding off on buying this on the PC!
