same thing is happening to me in COD4.
Tells me theres an update, but disconnects me from live first, and then fails because it's not connected to live.
but then i get kicked out to the dashboard and it immediately connects again.
i have gone through this cycle 10 times. it's not a fun game.

This is the second time this happened. Xbox live has been buggy, slow, and a pain to work with since the Spring dashboard update in December.

The new interface is stupid and a pain in the ass to work with, the interface before this was perfect.

Just shut down XBL for a week, install more servers so we can feel like our 50 bucks a year was once worth it. Till then, I'm not renewing my subscription that runs out tomorrow.

I've been having network problems with Halo 3 for about a week now. It isn't on my end because I completely tore my network apart trying to fix it and with recommended and my best settings, it still happens. It is either more throttling from Comcast or something on Microsoft's end.

I just spent many many unnerving minutes trying to d/l the new COD4 DLC. Occasionally it actually lets me see the content available for download. Then naturally once that happens I can't add MS Points to start the download. Stressful! Damn you Microsoft, I am trying to spend money and you won't let me!!!

XBL may be slow, but as a Wii60 owner, I can confirm it's still harder, better, faster, and stronger than Brawl's online for sure.

I very much agree with this statement, as I'm also a Wii60 owner, and CoD4 is running smoothly for me at the moment. There has been some stuttering, but nothing ground-shaking. Meanwhile, whenever I play Brawl online, there's always slowdown.

Marketplace won't work, but everything else does for me. I haven't DLed the COD maps, but I could imagine they are not helping the situation.

"experiencing login issues, download errors and general feeling of the service being dragged through molasses"

Ha, that's what happens to me every time I log into or try to log into the PSN.

Don't even think about trying to redeem a points card so you can actually download the content.... I entered it 5 times and each time it would say "1400 points card" and you try to redeem it and it gives you an error and it just makes you enter it again. I tried entering it on Xbox.com as well...but same problem. It better not be the card itself....

yeah, it's not the card.....I tried a few times with a 4000 point card and it does the same thing to me. Just wait it out, I'm sure it'll get better by tomorrow

Ironically, I've been experiencing the smoothest online performance playing RSV2 these last couple days.

Xbox Live Marketplace, however, is slower than poo. Been downloading a 600mb demo for 9 hours now
