Rooster Teeth reveals new series: Reconstruction
55
If you've kept up with the five seasons (and multiple spin-off miniseries) of Rooster Teeth's (mostly) comedic Halo-based series "Red vs. Blue", then their recent announcement (with accompanying teaser trailer) of a brand new chapter in their seminal machinima franchise should definitely tickle your fancy. However, it seems that the Teeth have left their lollerskates at home for this one -- though the cast list tacked to the end of the above video shows that many of the series' voice actors are making a return, the trailer lacks the Spanish-speaking robots, megalomaniacal medics, and pregnant men that we've become accustomed to seeing in the "RvB" universe. Still, with production values like this, we couldn't be more on board.

Soooo over Halo 3 machinima, after Halo 2 everyone and their retarded brother started making them. Youtube has like a gazillion (mostly awful) ripoffs.
COD4 is the future of machinima!

Speaking of COD 4 I like that little rap song during the ending credits.. Reminds me of Del Tha Funky Homosapien ... "Marines throw your hands up ... Viskayev throw your hand up" ... Something like that ...

Do you really need to come into every post with the word Halo in it and proclaim how much better COD4 is? We get it, COD4 is a great and you really like. Any way, I think saying "COD4 is the future of machinima" is wrong, because the very fact that there are tools for making machinim (even if they are very limited) built into Halo 3 basicly ensures it to be the Machiniator's (or whatever they like to call themselfs) choice game for some time. Also, and I mean this is a sincere way, can you please give me some links to some good COD4 machinima, because the stuff I've seen hasn't been very good and isn't even close to some of my favorite Halo machinima (like Red vs Blue (duh), Arby and the Chief (which, to be faif, is mostly action figures, but funny none the less) and others (though they must not of been that good if I can't remember their names)).
Disclaimer: I'm not a 360 fanboy, though I don't own a Wii or PS3 due to the lack of da moneys. I am however, a bit of a Halo fanboy, and as such, all halo related comments I make should be taken with a pinch of salt. Also, I don't hate COD; it is a wonderful game and number 2 in my heart right behind that Armor cladded spartan.

Obie, Halo: CE and Halo 2 were excellent for machinima, and the fact that forge exists along with saved game replays instantly proves that Halo 3 is more suited for machinima. The link you sent shouldn't even qualify as machinima. All it was was some pan shots on the maps, no characters, no dialog, nothing.

Haha oh i see what you did there. You took a cool trailer that is based off of halo 3(which is made for machinima) and tried to star a flame war in it's thread. bravo Obie no one has ever had your originality before

Yes, stupid. Saved Films, the Forge, etc. All perfect for Machinima tools. Bungie even stated that Halo 3 was made specifically to help this sort of thing out.

Well I could hammer you for not reading the post but I wont. Reconstruction isn't gonna be a comedy series like the Blood Gulch Chronicles was, but it seems to be a machinima that literally follows the steps of Recovery One, which you can find on roosterteeth's site.
Also, please use "s"'s and not "z"'s, itz annoying.

If the significance of the crashed Pelican is any indication, it looks like this is going to pick up where the original series left off.

Ah! Just what I've been waiting for. Saw the video on their site earlier today. Glad to see these guys starting something new up.
I'll miss the awesome comedy from the earlier BGC seasons (for the uninitiated, BGC=Blood Gulch Chronicles), I'm looking forward to seeing their serious side...Assuming they have one. But I hope they have at least some comedy in there. There has to be; it's RvB!

You know what's the difference between this Machinima and the other Machinimas at Machinima.com?
Pokémon...
Wrong! Good voice acting. All serious Machinima about Halo 3 suck and the voice acting makes your ears scream in pain but Red Vs Blue team have a good voice acting but if you ask me they should drop the red vs blue tag from the title and rather place “from the creators of Red vs Blue” instead. The “Red vs Blue” name is related to comedy and anyone watching this without knowing what it is will be all “WTF? Where is caboose?”
For the amount of machinimas related to Halo 3 one would think many fans would beg Bungie for a Garry’s Mod sort of game or add-on for Halo.

Looks cool. I think a lot of people over look the Half life machinima community. Top notch stuff you can do there. I think my "indie" HL movie of choice is The Corporate Triad.

Caught this earlier and its lookin good. Cant wait to see the rooster teeth guys back in action again...and I really hope this is gonna last more then a few episodes.
Good observation above about the pelican. Lemme say something I noticed. It looks like the reds and blues were finally working together, but something happened, and they turned on each other. Our narrator friend notes this, and you can also sort of tell because of the placement of the bodies(red bodies in one spot, blue bodies in another)

It's not a comedy? Guess I should read the post and watch the trailer before having a joygasm. Anyway, Red vs Blue made me attached to the characters, and this could be even better without the over the top cheesiness of certain characters.

I've tried to play Halo 3 but couldn't get into it. Do you think if I played the first two and knew the story line I would appreciate it more? I'm not slamming Halo 3, as I thought it was a graphically beautiful, I just couldn't get myself to play it for more than 20 minutes at a time. What do you guys think? Play 1 and 2 first then dive into 3?

Well if you're playing campaign you should obviously play the first two games, but the online stands alone.

I never owned an original Xbox, or knew anybody who had one so I missed out on the first two.
Yeah, I played the campaign and was completely lost. Well, add two more games to my list I have to play and beat.

Burnie says in the comments to the video, "Don't let appearances fool you" in response to a question about whether it's serious or funny. So I'm assuming it will be a new comedy series. It better be. I love their serious stuff, but I much prefer the comedy.
