Excellent news. DOW is one of my favourite strategy games ever, beaten only in quality by the aging Starcraft (and future Starcraft 2). I was devastated to learn the only race i used in the tabletop game, Tyranids, weren't to be including because the game engine wasn't good enough. Bring on the Nids!

I don't collect Warhammer, but I looked through the various races, and I say Imperial Army FTW.

I really must get around to playing DoW1... but i know the completist in me would insist on buying it with all the expansions.. and then i'd be playing until next year...

Fortunatly, you dont need to buy the first 2. The 'Dark Crusade' expansion is standalone with an excellent campaign mode, as is Soulstorm. Soulstorm has 2 more races, but i think the campaign in Dark Crusade is better. Just get them one by one. By the original and finish the campaign, then Winter Assault (needs original) and follow on to Dark Crusade and Soulstorm. If you want to use the races from DOW and Winter Assault in multiplayer, you do have to buy them. If you ONLY buy Dark Crusade or Soulstorm, you can ONLY use the 2 new races each of them has for multiplayer, but you can always use all available races in skirmish. You're missing out man, get this game!

Dawn of War Platinum Edition includes the original game + Winter Assault + Dark Crusade for 30 bucks total.
Doesn't have Soulstorm included though.

Thats why he was praising that Relic is back. He was effectivly complaining about the botchy job done on Soulstorm. It's a damn shame IronLore went downhill, Titan Quest: Immortal Throne is one of my favourite games and i've played that game more over the last 12 months than any other (and i've finished every A+ Wii game too). It might have something to do with that fact that twice in a row when i got a Battlemage up to Legendary difficulty, the comp died and i lost the character. Not this time!

Ironically, they'll be competing with StarCraft2 which is likely due out around the same time. If that turns out to be the case it's very likely to get buried.

the last I heard, SC2 will be out this Fall, giving DoW2 plenty of time with a Spring 09 release. Even still, there are plenty of Warhammer fans out there for this to sell pretty well. After that, Company of Heroes is supposed to get a full on sequel in the Fall of 09, talk about RTS goodness.

Anyone else notice how familliar a certain sound effect is in this trailer?
Sounds very familliar to me...sounds very...how could I put it...'Crafty', of the 'Third' kind. Kind of threatning, like a 'bear'. This calls for 'War'.

You mean the stock sound effects that both they and Blizzard used, but that Relic will probably replace with their own sounds once the game is further along in development, whereas Blizzard would just keep it in there?
