The Bourne Conspiracy 'Takedown Trailer' demonstrates groin punching engine
Those who wouldn't consider themselves fans of office equipment-related acts of violence should probably go ahead and skip this video altogether -- but if you're the kind of person who owns multiple copies of the Jean Claude Van Damme masterpiece "Bloodsport", feel free to treat yourself to the above trailer for Sierra's adaptation of Robert Ludlum's popular series of espionage novels, The Bourne Conspiracy. Who knew literature could be so ... pugilistic?
We're still waiting for that lackluster gameplay montage or negative hands-on writeup to confirm our general apprehension towards adapted games, but with the continuing font of sizzle trailers Sierra is churning out, our steadfast trepidation is waning. Damon be damned -- we can't wait for Conspiracy's June 3 release date.

Now, I'm no huge fan of Matt Damon...but why did they have to give the main character the usual completely nondescript-male model protagonist look? Blah. This would have been better suited to using his likeness from the movies. Or maybe I'm just a consistency freak.

I'm actually in favour of the 'nondescript-male model protagonist look' a few reasons really.
1. The fewer direct ties to the films gives me some hope that this won't suck like practically all other movie tie-ins.
2. The whole point about Jason Bourne, from the books at least, is the fact that he DOES look like your average Joe, and just with subtle changes (different contacts, slightly different hair colour etc...) he can just fade into a sea of faces.
3. Should the game actually be any good, it can survive as a franchise completely independent of the films - whether they make any more or not.

Maybe I'm a detail freak, but I like how stuff around you gets destroyed as you're slamming the other dude into various things.
I really wonder how they'd work out the camera though for gameplay, since they're just showing us how it'd be really cinematic.

Man hearing groin-punch just makes me think of split punch, which makes me think of one of the greatest film twists of all time.

i think this is all in game cutscene, I cant imagine youd actually be able to control your characters fight moves as smoothly as it is shown.
maybe theyre utilising the same game mechanics as in god of war, ya know, cutscene.... press X.... cutscene ..... press o ... cutscene ... press , oh no, your dead, you didnt press it fast enough. try again.

I don't know... EA's Bond game "Everything Or Nothing" had some pretty sophisticated fights moves, with very simples controls. That's that alure of this game for me, because I loved EoN, and Bourne Conspiracy looks to play very similarly.

It's definatly in-game footage, I played this at Play.com Live at London. The fighting is all in game, but the bit like where Bourne slides under the closing gates or jumping off the balcony is done with Quick Time Events.
It just goes to show how much they've captured the style of the films so well.

They've already stated that they created a new camera system to make the game appear more cinematic, whats with all of the disbelief?

See now that's a trailer that graduated from the Totally Wicked Awesome Academy for Badasses.

How come its already got a Teen rating if its not out till June? Is that normal. Will there have been an agreement to cut any serious violence if they overstep it.
