This game could be cool. I'm pretty sure it's hitting PC also. Is it? If so, please also file it under PC.

AKA it will sell like shit because nobody likes Visa.

In advance: A.wake selling poorly on PC does not mean PC gaming is going to die. =P

In the UK Play.com have it down for release on the XBox360 on 26/09/2008. You can pre-order it there. It looks good but why all the fuss?

Oh yes link:

The good thing about this game having a media blackout is that there isn't really that much hype around it. How can people get excited for a game they know next to nothing about?

I'm still interested in the concept, but they haven't really promised much of anything or revealed a whole lot through trailers or early demos, so I have zero expectations for them to crush. Of course the steady stream of good titles as of late has helped me keep my mind off of it as well.

Yeah, what's up with people being excited about the next Team ICO game? You freaking idiots!

Right, let me try that again.

What I was trying to say was that I am interested in this game, but I wouldn't say that I'm excited about it. This is for two reasons:

1. There isn't a lot of info about it (it's beginning to look like vaporware, actually).
2. There are a lot of other games out right now to keep me distracted.

And as far as the next Team ICO project, of course people are excited about it. You know why? Because they've set a precedent for their work by producing other quality titles in the past.

What has Remedy done to make a name for themselves? No, really, I'm asking because I've never heard of them before this game.

Wake me up when M$ solves the various Xbox 360 hardware failures/problems (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_360_technical_problems) and i'll consider buying the system for good games such as this one.

Yeah dude that legitimate ... That blog has a total of 2 post's ... 1 says the PS3 hardware failre is worse than the RROD and the other says the RROD is a good marketing technique for Microsoft to pick up on ...

Read it for yourself

http://videogame-market.blogspot.com/

Everyone knows the 360 has a high failure rate and I would guess the total failure rate exceeds 33% ... maybe the RROD issue accounts for 33% of failures and thats all Microsoft officialy accepts as hardware failure and fixes under it warranty. Any other problem will cost you $100.00 to fix ... Heck, I have had 6 RRODs and only 4 were ligitemate RROD with the other 2 being disc read errors that I had to force RROD with a towell ... I still have my 360 and in fact enjoy it but for anyone to deny the hardware issues is reaching ... Anyway, the Wii is also having problems I hear lately with some dirty lense action ... I have yet to have a single problem with my PS3 or Wii ... As I said I have had a lot of 360 trouble but I know I have just been extremely unlucky because my brother also has a launch console and it just recently RROD on him for the first time ... Sad isn't it when your considred lucky when you have only one hardware failure ... I can't say this is a new trend because I had about 2 or 3 PS2's that burnt out on me and another original X-Box that did the same ... ALl the while my NES, Turbo Grafix 16, SNES, 64 & Dreamcast still work to this day without a single problem ... As long as Microsoft keeps fixing my console for free I will continue to play it but I only buy exclusives now and pick up most multiplatform titles for the PS3 & Wii when available ...

Nice try Samfish but you know you were reaching with that one ...

I've seen some gameplay vids of this title a couple of weeks back. It really reminds me of 'Myst' lots of really pretty screens that are static for the most part thats gonna require lots of point-n-clicking on the players part to trigger gameplay sequences. You're either gonna dig this style or not.

Not at all. While there are some 'shooting' aspects to the game, its more of an adventure game then anything with lots of gameplay mechanics reminiscent of PC style point-n-clickers.

like i said, reminded me of Myst but with amazing (up to date) graphics.

I wish they would keep the blackout going until they ship the game. To many times the 'hype' spoils the surprises and fun IMHO.

Anyone old enough to remember the first Alien movie promo?.. the best movie promo ever.

I think it's safe to say, if they don't deliver, it's 'game over' for them. What I never understood is why they would announce the game at all if they didn't want any media interference. Announcing the game has shifted the focus on the game to their long development process.

Aye, you've got it

The same thing is happening to Sony's Heavy Rain and Nintendo's Disaster: Day of Crisis

I mean, Polyphony's taking forever and a day on GT5, but they've thrown bones to the media occasionally, helping to keep the game alive, whereas with the three games i just listed, its only the company's word that they aren't vaporware already

This media blackout better be because they want to add to Alan Wake's mysterious surroundings and not because the game is totally average and they are trying to hide that (a la Too Human).

I'm excited but sooner or later my interest will fade in this game.

I was going to crack wise about how the media blackout will end by the announcement that the game has been cancelled, but I thought I should add my 2 cents about the ps3 problems. I won a ps3 through a Shasta Cola premotion, and the unit I (months later) recieved had a broken bluray drive out of the box. It wouldn't even accept discs all the way to even try and read them. Sony fought with me big time about the repair, saying that I didn't have a reciept and would have to pay to have the unit repaired. Luckily the guys at Shasta cola's premotional department stepped up and talked to Sony for me, getting the repair done under warranty (thanks Shasta!). When I recieved my replacement 20Gb ps3 it had a friendly little piece of paper stating that my new refurbished ps3 was warrantied for only 90 days. I thought that was pretty weak because its supposed to have a year warranty , but if it breaks its dropped to 90 days. My ps3 still works, but now it lives with my nephews in San Diego, in the year I had it I just played a couple games and watched some movies on it.
