Update: Well, that's a relief. ComingSoon.net relays word from Disney that Orlando Bloom has not been cast as the eponymous prince. As for David Zandi ... we're still rooting for you, mate!
Original post:
Just forget about focus group-favorite David Zandi; who needs a real Persian prince anyhow? Instead – in what must have been a fevered race to cast the prettiest, and least Persian-looking, male actor working in Hollywood – Orlando Bloom apparently edged out Zac Efron for the title role in Jerry Bruckheimer's mega-budget "not a video game movie" adaptation of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
The downside: Bloom's reportedly pulling in $40 million for the role (fun fact: that's $40 million more than any of us will ever see). The upside: We're glad to know there's at least one casting director in Hollywood who probably doesn't disagree with our choice of Woody Allen as Marcus Fenix in Gears of War.

Orlando Bloom ruins everything.
If you don't believe me, just remember how you felt when that throng of preteens gasped and wooed over Legolas in Lord of the Rings.
That's what I thought.

Out of topic but I was invited to the premier of LotR Two Towers (It was a local exhibition) and there were these 2 stupid 24 year old girls saying stupid stuff because it seems they went to the premier without knowing what LotR was and commenting retarded stuff, the worst is that they were next to me and everyone in the theater could hear them. I would never ever hit a woman but I really wanted to b*tch slap both.

this is incredible. They're actually casting the whitest whiteboy in America to play the prince of PERSIA.
Jesus christ, those insular, racist pigs make me physically ill sometimes. They really do.
