"Unless you're some kind of Puyo Puyo junkie that spends your days and night grouping together similarly-colored objects in the hopes that they will erase themselves from existence."

Guilty. :)

I keep grouping those fiends in Ninja Gaiden DS in groups of threes, but they don't disappear. :(

Hopefully, Atlus or Sega will publish the game in North America.

Peace.

Here's the Puyo Puyo 15th Anniversary CM, showing the board flipping upside down (as referenced by David H. in the post).

Here's another video of Yuri Ebihara (the girl in the Puyo Puyo CM).

Weird screen-flipping modes or not, I'll buy as long as fever mode is a no-show. Maybe I didn't give myself enough time to get the hang of it, but I found Puyo Pop Fever (Gamecube version, and the only Puyo Puyo game I've played) to be unplayable, which is a shame considering that I found the core gameplay concept of simply rotating and dropping the matching-colored puyos to be so addictive.

FYI, Fever mode is not the core mechanic here. There are three different ways to play stolen from past Puyo Puyo games (the original Puyo Puyo, Puyo Puyo 2 and Puyo Puyo Fever). The other 9 are...well, mostly gimmicks, now that I look at them again. Haha.

Since about 10 of those ways to play have nothing to do with fever mode, you might want to check this out.

http://puyo.sega.jp/about/index.html — the 12 different "modes" can be viewed by clicking the left button on the main flash page. (It's the button with '12' buried in all the moonspeak.)

FYI, this is just a budget priced re-release of Puyo Puyo 15th Anniversary.

hey Dinkle, this is the 15th anniversary version released in '06. It's budget-priced and being released for all platforms simultaneously.

Let us know when a sequel is truly being developed tho!
