Today in Joystiq: April 7, 2008
We wanted to send some comfort and well wishes to Go Nintendo founder Kevin Cassidy, whose dog Buddy the Podcast Dog passed away this week. Many of the Joystiq staff can swear without a doubt that they are closer to their pets than other humans. Speaking personally, I went through almost exactly the same scenario, with the same story, about nine months ago. Take care Kevin, and be glad you gave him such a great life. Check out the highlights for today:

I agree, I think i'm closer to my dogs than any other human
Though my dog is a first class bitch
(i don't mean she's a breed worthy female dog I mean her personality is a bitch)

I was about to place a link to the original NEDM video and disguise it in a tinyurl but no, I'm not an asshole and I'm trying to set an example:
Here a link to another video, I promise you won't see Rick Astley in it.

My instincts told me to not trust this link, Mr. Esc has text rolled before, yet i clicked anyway. But I'll give you points for telling the truth.
...you diabolical bastard
Mr.ESC @ Apr 8th 2008 1:17AM
I told you Sir I'm not a bastard but indeed I'm diabolical, just be glad this joystiq and not GS forums and you aren't in the Big 5 era.
The big 5 era...*shudders.

man, that's sad.. i have 2 boston terriers of my own and they're like my kids. I would be devastated if I had to euthanize one of them..
My sympathies to RMC

it really sucks when pets die. we've had to put at least one pet down every year for the last three years including my 23 year old cat, Maggie, who was my best friend for as long as I can remember. that's what sucks about having lots of pets as a child. but we gave them all lots of love in life and that's what i'll always remember.
I'm sorry for your loss, Cassidy.

My condolences go out to RMC, too. He seems like such a genuinely good person, so it makes it all the worse to see him lose his dog like that.

Sorry to hear about your dog!
+1 for Buddy playing Nintendogs. Or is Phoenix Wright more his style?
Luigi193 @ Apr 8th 2008 12:50PM
You have my condolences to RMC...

When my dog died last year it horrible -- I had not realized how important he was to me. And telling my daughter was even worse.
Condolences, Kevin.

I feel left out that I could never had a dog. In the New Yorker Hotel we couldn't have one. And now that we live in Ohio we have lots of lovebirds. Any bigger animals is potentially unhealthy for them. So rather than giving up the $50 a baby lovebird we've never had dogs or cats.
chacho89 @ Apr 8th 2008 2:31PM
As stated before I'm sorry RMC.
