Finally, the NES gets DLC
We admit that we don't share their same tendencies, but we love how many video game modders seem to come from the George Mallory school of thought. Why do you want to put downloadable content on the Nintendo Entertainment System? Because it is there. RetroZone are the ones to thank for the feat, which involves a specially-made cart featuring the Mac game Glider.The cart is flashable, so once you finish the levels that ship with the game, new ones can be downloaded from RetroZone's official site. No, it's nothing we'd ever sink our time into. But we're aboslutely thrilled that someone out there is doing it.

Too little, too late. The Sega Master system is more powerful and its games are playable on its next-gen system, the Genesis. Nintendo's poorly named Super-Nintendo doesn't even accept the old NES carts.
I doubt that this downloadable content will be anything more than a cheap gimmick.

No way, Nintendo has promised that the Super NES will be the only console with Mario on it, even though there are rumours about the franchise being sold to Sega. You're just butthurt that Nintendo supports true 3D gaming with the Super FX chip. Just watch, soon Sega will collapse, and Sonic will be on Nintendo games.

Pfft. Sega'll never leave the console business. It'll be a cold day in hell before Nintendo is selling consoles and Sega is not. This DLC is a gimmick. It'd take ages anyway to download with my state of the art 56k modem, never mind a standard 28k. It'll never catch on.

The PowerPak offered by RetroUSB for the NES is a great product. I bought one a while ago and love playing all the NES games I didn't have on my console instead of on an emulator. Well worth the price if you're the type looking for NES gameplay and not VC or other emu.
