"There's no co-op option for the single-player missions, but many online modes allow for cooperation."

So basically: There won't be any Co-Op but you'll be able to do Teams&Stuff on Multi.

it depends on what you mean by co-op. No you can't do missions with other people but you can screw around in the city with other people with no objectives and make up your own stuff to do

"there's no need for co-op through the single player campaign since it's the...SINGLE PLAYER campaign"

Semantics... you know what was meant. Co-op is the MP version of SP. And it's shame it won't be included. I don't really give a crap about freeroaming. I mean, that might be fun for a little while, but I'd rather being doing something with a point to it.

"There's no co-op option for the single-player missions"

Arg, the only piece of bad news out there about this game. I realize that the story will probably revolve around one guy, but who really plays GTA for the story? Give us the same story/cutscenes with the one guy and then when the mission starts just have two guys (they can even both be the main character for all I care), kind of like Halo 3 did for the 3rd and 4th player.

Oh well, this game will still be epic, but a full co-op campaign was a big deal to me.

I agree. They could have included a co-op mode that lets you play through missions where one character is the lead and activates cutscenes and whatnot and the other guy just runs around, rides shotty, drives, etc. They could have been real lazy with it and I wouldn't mind. Just throw it in there. I assume there are some pretty epic moments in the game that would be fun to hammer through with a friend.

Online co-op would have been really cool, but I guess I can live without it....

This game keeps getting better and better. It looks like they've compacted the promise of APB into just the multiplayer missions of an already awesome game

I don't see what everyones so excited about. No co-op means that this game just went from game of the year to just another GTA in my book. Why do the fools at Rockstar not see how incredible a co-op GTA game would be? I'm only asking for 2-person co-op. The ability to go through the entire game with a friend via XBOX-Live would be amazing.

I just find it stupid that games like Crackdown can have this feature but GTA does not.

This game sounds like a lot of fun, can't wait.

Like someone else said before, the multiplayer in GTA2 was soooooooooooooo much fun! I still play it sometimes!

One more remark...

The graphics really really really look bad!!!!!!!!

The hell is this, a Wii game?

I'm seriously disappointed.

LOL @ SyChO-421

Thats the way its supposed to look. Thats the art direction they are going with, IMO I think it looks amazing when its running in the trailers. Even on IGN.com they keep saying it looks amazing.

xFenixKnightx,

I'm glad your getting a kick out of my comment, but the details are really really bad...

The game is going to be huge and very demanding, but this should be an excuse for a next-gen 2008 video game.

That being said, I'm getting this game Fo-Sureeeee!!!

I think the visuals, or lack thereof, are more to do with the type of game than they are to do with art direction or developer skill. COD4 certainly blows it away in a sense, but COD4 also has vastly less going on in it. You have a limited amount of RAM by which to operate with. COD4 and Gears packed everything into tight areas with very little physics, AI, etc. running alongside it. GTAIV has much larger areas with many more individual resource demanding objects like people, cars, helicopters, etc running around at once.

Let's assume COD4 maxes out the 360 and PS3. With that said, you could not run COD4 graphics with 4x the stuff going on at once ala GTAIV. From what I've seen, GTAIV looks to be very impressive technically compared to similar titles like Saint's Row and Crackdown.

MN Guy,

I totally agree with what your saying. The problem is that I still feel that the game could have looked better.

It just seems like it isn't that much of a leap compared to S.A on a PC played 3years ago...

So my comment was more of an observation than a criticism.

Anyhow... Gta4 FTW! >-)

GTA hacked multiplayer has been our for a long time. The major thing that it was missing was the computer generated crowd. GTA1 and GTA2 had it. If you never played the hacked GTA:SA or ViceCity multiplayer you don't realise how deserted and dull the city feels without it. You drive and there's no one around, it's pretty bland compared to when there are people and cars around.
