PSP firmware 3.95 adds minor remote play features
Attention, people who enjoy playing console games on a portable system via a wireless internet connection: We have important news for both of you! The new PSP firmware version 3.95 offers two minor tweaks to enhance your remote playing experience.
Remote players can now remap the PSP's limited button layout to more usefully replicate the DualShock when playing PSOne games. The new firmware also allows players to stop remote play without turning off the PS3, allowing any background downloads to continue unabated. While these new tweaks aren't exactly revolutionary, it's always nice to see a company continuing to support product features well after their release.

This doesn't have anything to do with the post, but has anyone else noticed who all the idiots that would freak out if they got the first post are gone? What happened? They were like all here last week...

Regrettably, your attempt to insult "FIRST POST!!!" people is clumsy enough to be as annoying.**
**assuming you aren't one yourself, but were too ashamed to come out plainly

You obviously read my post wrong then. Where in it was I trying to insult them? I just asked where they had all gone. Lern 2 troll lolz.

"Lern 2 troll lolz."
No.

"No."
That's the best you can come up with? Better luck next time.

I don't understand... You don't have to turn your PS3 off to stop play. Just press the home button on your PSP and choose quit remote play.
I wish I could find my PSP :(
borland502 (SDF - Macross Ring) @ Apr 8th 2008 12:58PM
Dunno. I thought that myself, but maybe it didn't work for background processes. I always left my connection in a folding process.
farfisa @ Apr 8th 2008 1:08PM
Unfortunately, Remote Find hasn't been implemented yet.
But yeah, I'm a little confused there--I have never had to turn off the PS3 to stop remote play.

Remote Play rules. One of the PS3/PSP's best features.
PojoMofo @ Apr 8th 2008 12:35PM
agreed, I do wish they would roll these out a little less frequently. Between the PSP and the PS3, I spend 50% of my gaming time downloading and installing firmware updates. I shouldnt complain though, I would rather have them do it this way then twice a year.
Lars @ Apr 8th 2008 5:13PM
So you spend what, 15 min a month playing games?
Martez @ Apr 8th 2008 5:24PM
I lol'd a little.
darkeyez @ Apr 8th 2008 12:22PM
i never understood why the PSP didn't have a 2nd nub like the dualshock has 2 analog sticks.
riggs @ Apr 8th 2008 12:30PM
supposedly it would be hard to hold and play, which i think is bullshit.
Curmeo @ Apr 8th 2008 12:59PM
we all would prefer 2 analog sticks versus 1, but that didnt stop the N64, Dreamcast, and a bunch of other systems to produce amazing gameplay.
but you know what i do? i bought a stick-on dpad to use over the face buttons. it works beautifully with FPS online gameplay, even though the face buttons are digital. hell you could even stick a coin on.

I have a PSPhat and bought it early on because of all of the promises that they made such as the remote-play which sounded EXTREMELY interesting at the time. I held out for a while, but they took so long to deliver on them that I bought a 360 instead of a PS3. At this point, I just really don't even care about any features beyond the games like God of War and Syphon Filter.
Mills and Boom @ Apr 8th 2008 2:02PM
I don't even care for them 2 games :)
Remote Play sounds good on paper but has been so poorly implemented.
T H @ Apr 8th 2008 10:22PM
Mills, you have a 360.. we all know that. Don't speak on things you don't know *squat* about.
R. D. Rees @ Apr 8th 2008 9:31PM
I love remote play! Such a cool feature to be away on a trip and yet have access to my games, and especially my pictures and music, of which I have far to many to store on a memory stick.
