So wait...I can rationalize dealing with in game ads through earning it the hard way by working to the top ranks. But...if I buy the special edition, for 10 dollars more, and I still have to deal with this bullshit? GG EA, quit screwing your customers over. Let DICE make their game and don't pull any more of this marketing BS to thicken your pocketbooks. Remember what happened to Unreal Tournament 3? It will be the same kinda mess if your game keeps getting this kinda bad press. Word travels around.

These fucks new this would blow up and did it intentionally as a marketing scam. Any publicity is good publicity. I doubt they ever intended to charge for the guns. They knew it would blow up and used gamers and the internet to spread the word about the game. If I pay $60 for your game (AND I WON'T BE) I don't want to sign up for 5 marketing scams so you can sell my email and make even more money. Suck it EA!

Wait so the people who paid the extra 10$ won't have access to the DLC the same day?

I paid more I deserve to pwn more!!! Damn you poor people!

Lolz

Well the truth is that I'm sick of this type of games and this issue regarding the DLC is just keeping me away from it. Is a game I want to like but is just unattractive.

I think if you buy the special edition you'll get it after you've done the marketing schemes. Whereas the standard edition, you have to do the marketing scheme and reach lvl. 25 before you can use the "special" weapons.

I see why this isn't getting released on PC.

We'd all pirate this without the slightest trace of guilt. Greedy fuckers.

I felt a great disturbance in The Force...

Now I know what it is...

Before I was sorta neutral about this whole situation. Now that I find out even those who cough up the extra money are STILL going to get spammed by EA shit that PISSES ME OFF.

God damnit...the beta is so good and I'm sure the final version will be kickass but EA and Dice are REALLY trying my patience now...

Great job Sarcastic Gamer!!! Its funny how Joystiq didn't write an article on this until SG started pleading with the 'big' news outlets to talk about this.

But....I guess Joystiq doesn't want to allow Sarcastic Gamer to take credit for this victory....so yay Joystiq!

SG's intent from the get go was for the gamer to win in this, not their site.

But way to be complete jerks McElroy bros......

Camaroguy579, lets see, you have 4 posts here as of late - 2 trying to get free crap and two on this issue.

Spare the rest of us from your lectures until you add something not totally self serving to the mix.

I'm still buying the game and I'm getting the gold version.
I am a Battlefield fanyboy, but not a EA fandboy. I still want the gold version for the bonus disc though...Not for them crappy guns.

Most of these people don't even know what they're talking about. All you guys know is that there are guns and EA wants you to buy them.

The guns suck and by the time you hit rank 25, you'll have WAY better guns. So to all the people who don't know anything about this game and haven't planned on getting it, you shouldn't be here. The beta rocks and these "DLC guns" are crap and I laugh at EA and you guys who make this a big deal.

Joystiq was one of the first major blogs to cover the effort and has been instrumental in helping Sarcastic Gamer grow as a community. I appreciate the support and hope that our community members will sort of filter out all of the excitement and not direct anything but gratitude towards Joystiq, Justin, or anyone here.

I know first hand what sorts of growth our site has experienced as a direct result of Joystiq running our videos. They owe us NOTHING. It's more the other way around actually.

There are plenty of ill informed people out there that we have to watch it around. Joystiq is NOT one of those entities.

Thanks for helping spread the word guys.

Read between lines: console game devels hate gamers.

To solve the problem, just buy decent PC - even for $600 you can get a more than decent gaming rig. PC games are cheaper. There are more of them. Most importantly, there are far less a**holes in the PC game business.
