Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball delayed, extra content promised

In an effort to paint a silver lining on the news, Blazing Lizard studio director Christopher Stockman notes that the extra time will let the devs "go back and add in additional content to the game," including new rules and modes for the title's cadre of ninjas, pirates, robots, and zombies.
When asked as to the reason for the delay, a spokesperson told us that it "was the addition of different game modes, specifically the mode that works more like traditional dodgeball." That's fine, though we suspect the constant flurry of cutlass swipes and hurled shurikens might have had something to do with it as well.

haha! I had to.
Exo @ Apr 9th 2008 6:15PM
just had to what? your joke is horrible, if you can even call it a joke. everyplatform has tons of games with delays. so you are just being a tard fanboy really.

See the thing is, videogames can never emulate what actually makes dodgeball fun - throwing the balls. Even the Wii can't do that...yet. Prepare for inevitable ball controller, only glued to your hand so you can't actually throw it and break your fancy pants HDTV.
Sam406 @ Apr 9th 2008 6:15PM
would comment on your apparent expertise for handling balls, but that'll be to easy.
KeenCommander @ Apr 9th 2008 7:21PM
Would comment on the fact that I'd pwn you at a good old fashioned game of dodgeball, but your comment wasn't funny enough to be worth it.

KeenCommander, I am pleased with your new avatar.

Delaying an as-yet-not-released game just to promise more content is not a good sign.
Mr Khan @ Apr 9th 2008 6:13PM
I know, it seems so out of place for a developer to actually want to release a finished game
What could they be thinking?
Mr Khan @ Apr 9th 2008 6:11PM
Their reason: The ninja they have to use as models keep disappearing, right under their noses, and the pirates keep walking off with their devkits
ManicBomber @ Apr 9th 2008 6:11PM
I think this is good news. The only thing I wanted was a more traditional experience, and when I heard that you just ran around I wasn't going to get it.
Sam406 @ Apr 9th 2008 6:11PM
The delay is because of huge balanse issues, the pirate team have no chance against the ninja team, plain and simple.
ManicBomber @ Apr 9th 2008 6:51PM
You said that wrong - it's the ninja's didn't have a chance against the pirates (obviously)
Exo @ Apr 9th 2008 6:13PM
theres people looking forword to the game?
Odog4ever @ Apr 9th 2008 6:32PM
Yes there are. There are people looking forward to a lot of games coming out on XBLA. If it doesn't look like your cup of tea, then shuffle on.
(Or you could wait to download the free trail to make a decision like a grown up)
PojoMofo @ Apr 9th 2008 6:13PM
another onw to file under "dont give a shit"
CarpeD1em500 @ Apr 9th 2008 6:23PM
What's a "one"?
Also, if you care that much to comment on it, then apparently you do give quite more than "a shit."
On topic - game still looks cool, and I'm okay with waiting...
Mr Khan @ Apr 9th 2008 6:40PM
Okay, this is probably the last time i'm going to ask this, as i have to decide soon, but is 1.6 Ghz a fast enough CPU speed for a laptop, if it is accompanied by 2 GB of RAM? The competition is offering faster CPUs, but half the total RAM, all for the same price
ManicBomber @ Apr 9th 2008 6:51PM
You can upgrade RAM a lot easier than you can upgrade a CPU, so you always go for the faster CPU?
Mr Khan @ Apr 9th 2008 7:20PM
That's what i've been hearing from other people, too, but I found another model of Dell to get a 2 Ghz CPU with 2 GB RAM for less
I'm kinda jaded on Dell from the PC we've had for five years which has always had problems with its boot speed, but more CPU power, HDD Space, and RAM should alleviate that,
