I thought the first one was fun, about a 9 out of 10, but the glitches screwed the game over. This one looks a lot better and I can't wait as long as the glitches are fixed.

is it just me or does it feel like Epic kicked GI in the balls a little..."tidbit"?

I doubt GoW2 will be GOTY, but it will be truely great. more of the same, which isnt a bad thing.

GTAIV sounds like it has more features, value, and promise for revolutionizing the franchise than GoW2 does. Plus there are a lot of other games coming out later this year that will probably have a better shot at game of the year.

What's this? Mark Rein relentlessly promoting his own game?

Whatever next?

Well, I think they've probably seen what Resistance 2 has planned to offer and will at least try to trump that experience. Granted, they don't have to worry about direct competition from that game on the 360, but I'm sure they have a case of developer one-upsmanship like all developers seem to have.

I'm in a major minority... as I hated Gears of War.
I thought the game was incredibly dull, painfully short, had a god awful shallow story, with god awful shallow characters, had crappy music, crappy character design, and the gameplay was a big one trick pony with no variety at all.
All it had going for it were graphics, and how neat some of the levels looked. Nothing else. If the game were a person, it'd wear a helmet, and drool on itself saying "ME MAKE BIG BOOM BOOM DURRR" over and over.

The meat of GoW was the multiplayer. If all you care about is single player then no, it's not the "keep you entertained for two years" game that you've been hearing about.

Personally, I still put 10-15 hours into the multiplayer ever week and I got the game on launch day. I guess you could say I'm hooked.

Well, to that end, I hate the multiplayer also.
It's overly simple, and also unvaried. Just as unvaried, if not moreso, than the single player.
Optionless and dull.

Well at least you're right about one thing, you are in the minority! GOW2 is gonna rule.

I would really like to see it, although it probably isn’t possible for game like this, to be less ridged. It works, but you can see its limitations. You have a narrow track you can traverse down like GOD O WAR. Both great games, but the game is played in small slots. Am I also in the minority on this issue? I thought GOW was great of course unlike number 7 but myself and a few friends have voiced the same wish. "Let us have a bigger area to make our own path" is a change I would like to see in the single/coop gametype.

I thought the music was actually one of the strongest points of GoW...

you should check out the soundtrack again on itunes...

but generally, i agree that GoW was a shallow game.

but hey, im a 20 year old guy, i like blood and guts. So it did it for me. I just wish i had a chainsaw bayonet in RL (real life. for non-fans of fps doug)

I'm hoping some of that stuff they held back from the GI article is 4 player co-op and a party system. Getting rid of the "A-button shenanigans" would be nice as well.
