I agree as well. Why can't they build a new generation Wavebird with teh bluetooth?

Try hunting down a Wavebird now...they easily get $100 for a single controller on eBay. Crazy!!!

$100 for a single controller? Really?

Here in Laredo, in the magical warehouse I always talk about, they have hundreds of Platium Wavebirds at $30, brand new, sealed.

It may be a good invest.

*Checking ebay and Amazon...

Don't use Amazon as a metric, Fernando. EVERYONE rapes you on Amazon...and those listings stay there forever. See what eBay has to say.

It'd be nice if Nintendo surprises up at E3 and announces a new Wavebird with pointing and waggle.

Real nice.

I have a lot of love and respect for Nintendo, but sometimes they do things that make no sense to me. Why release a legacy controller just to paint it white? It could at the very least plug into the wiimote like the classic controller. It just doesn't make sense to release anything with a wire these days. (no pun intended)

Yeah, I don't get it either. It would be so nice to plug it straight into the Wii-mote.

That would make it incompatible with Brawl and GC games, which misses the point.

I'm glad that Nintendo is making these again, they're a great controller.

Ideal situation:

Wavebird2
- Bluetooth
- Rumble
- Adaptor only needed for GC use, syncs directly with Wii
- Use for Menu Navigation

New Wired Controller
- Slightly Cheaper

I think they should have revised the Sticks and D-Pad to match the Wii style (and possibly recolor the buttons to white/clear/blue)....It wouldn't have been that hard and would save having to use 2 different molds.

It won't happen, because that makes sense.

Now, ceasing production of the sensible wavebird which is WIRELESS, that -- Nintendo will do. Like Fernando, I say buy up those Wavebirds ASAP and sell'em for profit. Yep.

I'm with all of you who want to see a new WaveBird with at least rumble, if not Bluetooth and Wii controls. In the meantime, since I refused to give up rumble like I had to for a while with my PS3, I've been using a pearl white GC controller I imported from Europe.

http://img161.imageshack.us/img161/706/cpgcwhitepadlar0.jpg

Not exactly the right color, but its been close enough for now. Short of a new WaveBird, I might have to swap it out though for the matching white one with the longer cord.

Well, I guess I'll be stopping in Japan on my way back to the States to pick one of these up.

Also, who is so desperate to pay outrageous prices on Wavebirds? Yes, they aren't making anymore but by no means does that mean the stock is gone. You can probably walk into any given Best Buy and find them for $30.

A Bluetooth Wavebird with rumble is a must-have. Where's the online petition for me to sign?
