Of the three new maps coming in the "Legendary" Halo 3 pack, "Ghost Town" is the only one that's completely brand new with no roots in earlier Haloz. So it's understandable if you become a little disoriented the first time you play it or, like us, if you start spinning wildly, firing in every direction before finding a safe spot and having a good cry. But there's no need for tears, little one! Three Halo 3 developers are going to take you on a tour in the amusingly named Vidoc: "Mapmaker, Mapmaker, Make Me A Map."
There's also dirt on the other maps, which, frankly, look delectable. Also, we just want everyone to know right now that we're never playing a game of Halo 3 without the old-timey filter. It's sepia or see-you-later, that's our motto.
NOBODY CARES! Hehe, no, I jest. But there's some truth in it - Halo is stale. The latest edition has few redeeming features - it's just another generic FPS.

actually i got bored of call of duty about a month or two after launch... and as hard as i try i simply can't pull myself away from halo to finish mass effect. i know that some people think its "cool" or "hip" to "hate" a game but say what you will halo is a terrific game (BTW would call of duty be the game to hate on now after all it is the most popular game... with that logic; how can it not suck?)
The map looks B-E-A-utiful! Some people dont give H3 alot of credit for its graphics but there are definatly some great levels and maps with great lighting and textures in the game. I was playing the new free map pack this weekend and I was really impressed with them. The HDR lighting is very sweet. I know FOR SURE that it has better graphics than Haze. Go look at some vids on Gamtrailers.com and it looks so bland and dead. =/
I don't mind paying the $10 bucks because I blow more than that eating out.

I personally really loved Lockout and Sidewinder, so I am really excited to play them again. especially with friends i've never had the opportunity to play them with (out of state)...
Well you play nearly everyday which is a plus for buying. But for the next 4-5 months these maps will only be available in unranked games. To some thats a minus for purchasing, personally I don't care about rank. I think it will come down to if you have a group of friends you normally play with online so you can set up some custom games, or have some fun in forge. Also, lockout.
They will be in matchmaking as long as everyone has the map for that round of play. Seriously, this map pack is way better than the last and is most certainly worth the ten bucks. If everyone were to pony up the money and purchase them, then we can all enjoy them in ranked matches. I for one am all for supporting Bungie on these maps. I'm sure Microsoft is getting a large chunk of the cash, but that is the way it goes.
I enjoy/ed their light-hearted attitude, however I didn't find it all too funny (the gears of war one was the best [BECAUSE ITS TRUE >_>]), not saying it flat out wasn't funny (like my earlier comment suggests), but it wasn't hilarious like you said.
Man...these maps look suuuwwweeeeet! Looks like they keep making Forge better and I'll be having fun making some custom game types. Oh..and shooting Pfemm in the face! Oh yeah..I said it. what.
Oh say what you like about Halo being generic(I don't feel like it is), but it's a solid game and these maps look great! To me, fun is more important than people's opinion of a game, and I have lots of fun playing Halo. (And I ALSO love CoD4, Gears, etc.)
looks sweet....now I'm torn between waiting for them to be free or just buying them outright...I don't really play enough Halo3 that often to justify the purchase....but....decisions, decisions....
