Infogrames CEO, David Gardner, tells Reuters he believes Alone in the Dark will sell two to three million copies this fiscal year. That means that, between its June 24 release and next March, the title needs to perform better than a game like BioShock. Given the fact that the title is being released on Wii, PS2, Xbox 360 and PC (PS3 is "sometime in 2008"), it just may hit that projection when combining all the systems ... maybe.
Gardner's currently focused on getting Infogrames / Atari to stop hemorrhaging money, and has Directeur Général Délégué Phil Harrison and friends looking to "get a business plan together that gets [Atari] to a break-even level." Unsurprisingly, Gardner couldn't give specifics on when he expects that to happen.

I highly doubt that Alone in the Dark will sell more than 1,124,542 copies.

I can't see it happening, but from what I've seen of this game it looks to be very good.
I hope it does well.

2 million copies on 5 systems? Shouldn't be that hard. The 360 manages to sell a million copies of just about every game, I'm sure the others combined can push it over.

Atari needs to turn on the hype machine. It won't sell itself.

oh man, that's a good one...*tear*
but seriously, Gardner should be fired on the spot for exhibiting such blatant stupidity. Interns and game "journalists" (like those who work at websites like Joystiq, Destructoid, Kotaku, etc) are expected to say stupid shit like that, not CEO's.
if im an investor i'd be looking to sell right about now...

How about manage to get the game OUT before the end of this year first?
I predict this game will get delayed until at least April of next year

If it's as good as it looks, I could see 2 million. 3 million would take a lot of promotion and a damn good game - not to mention it ever actually being released. I just hope this isn't a case of over-promise and under-deliver, because it certainly has the potential to be a great game.

Those BioShock #'s are US/UK only. Even so, no chance in hell.

Alone in the Dark a new nightmare was awesome and I'm a sucker for survival/scary games so I will be buying this.
It could reach a Million without more delays.

It's very possible that ATARI will have that success as it's not a standard zombie killing game and manages to keep you frightened during the entire game.
