The fervor preceding the Halo 3 Legendary Map Pack continues to grow (they're coming out next week, remember) with HBO letting the world know that Bungie has posted the heatmaps for all three upcoming new maps. As no one has access to the maps just yet, the heatmaps remain clean, preparing for the onslaught of death data that will flood them come April 15. So, all we have are empty overhead views of the new maps. Not very exciting, is it? Ah, who are we kidding, we're going to be staring at these things all day. Hit the "read" link to do some staring of your very own.

Heat maps, as far as my understanding (correct me if I'm wrong), represent areas of the map where the most killing and dying are taking place. It has been a while since I looked at them, but I think you can toggle on the maps which weapon you are viewing and whether you are viewing kills or deaths. So you could for instance choose Narrows, select the sniper rifle, and see that the majority of people hang at the back of the map and snipe people from there and so forth.

Heat maps has been a feature over at bungie.net for a while now. It basically displays where the most action has taken place on any given map. It's a pretty nifty thing.

I'm mostly looking forward to Avalanche myself. The only thing I don't get is what is up with that divider-thing in the bottom-center of the map? Don't like that much
