New Def Leppard single to hit GH3 before retail

The track, which comes as part of a Def Leppard pack along with classics "Rock of Ages" and "Photograph," will be available on April 24th in the U.S. and May 8th in the U.K. The album "Songs from the Sparkle Lounge" follows soon after on April 28 (digital download) and May 5 (physical disc).
"I know from personal experience how much more you get into the music by playing the game," said Def Leppard Lead Singer Joe Elliott in a press release. "Guitar Hero is extremely popular with all kinds of music heads, which includes a lot of our fans - and we think releasing Nine Lives this way first is just fantastic!"

Great. You can't get any better promotion for your music.
THE WICKER MAN (BWF) (GT: Dalek Prime) @ Apr 11th 2008 12:02PM
Yes you could, it goes by the name "Rock Band".
JakubK666 (Ninja Defence Force) @ Apr 11th 2008 12:18PM
"It" also goes by a price tag of +$350 so I'll pass.

Its downloads also reach a larger audience, and you would do well to remember the game can be purchased seperately. 350 you must also be in the uk.

"It" is worth every single penny. You can no longer say the same for the GH franchise.
Brian @ Apr 11th 2008 12:05PM
Nine Lives is a decent song, suprisingly.
THE Final Boss @ Apr 11th 2008 12:09PM
Nine lives? more like nine arms. I'm so witty.
MagiKarp @ Apr 11th 2008 12:22PM
Beat me to it! Argh!

Curious why there was no mention that the 4/24 date was an exclusive for the 360, with the PS3 not getting it until 5/8
Fernando Rocker @ Apr 11th 2008 12:19PM
It was expected... you know... tradition.

Because it isn't: http://www.deflepparduk.com/albumnews30.html
Only the European release on the PS3 is delayed until 5/8, check near the bottom.

The same article also mentioned RockBand and made it seem like it was on it's way there too. (maybe different songs)
Not to mention the Wii's game , forget the exact name , but the Battle of the Bands game. It will feature Photograph I believe.
So it's safe to say Def Lep is going all out on the video game promotional tour !
Kizzle @ Apr 11th 2008 12:41PM
Def Leppard "def"initely sucks.
Perhaps Metallica debuting their new single on Rock Band will be better...but I have my doubts.
Jerry @ Apr 11th 2008 12:43PM
The song is actually pretty good, they rocked my face off live with it just a few weeks ago.
tc @ Apr 11th 2008 12:46PM
I had something "witty" typed here about my hatred of def leppard and everything that they record. But i find that my loathing is too pure to be forced through layers of irony and humour:
Def Leppard is shite.
Justin @ Apr 11th 2008 1:02PM
Well, since you don't care for them, I suppose the rest of us may as well stop caring as well. Seriously, why take the time to come on and say you hate a band? There's plenty of bands that have been offered for GH or RB that I don't care for (Oasis tops the list), but I don't go out of my way to disparage them. To each their own, dude.
THE WICKER MAN (BWF) (GT: Dalek Prime) @ Apr 11th 2008 1:22PM
yet you just took the time to attack him and oasis you mean ol jerky.
tc @ Apr 11th 2008 2:55PM
"to each their own". youre most definitely correct Justin. I'm not trying to sway opinions, just venting this pure stream of abhorrence before it consumes me!

listen up slapnuts... thats one time too many.
Bonerama @ Apr 11th 2008 1:33PM
Sounds like a great idea. Would be nice to see what effect it had on sales of a band that is actually relevant these days, not some washed up 80's trash.
dark_inchworm @ Apr 11th 2008 2:23PM
Def Leppard may not be fantastic, and they certainly aren't quite relevant these days, but I hope that you're not comparing Def Leppard to today's radio hits...
If you are, you're a sad case.

This is totally rad! I've had a Def Leppard tape in the cassette player of my Camaro, like, since I bought it back in '86. They totally need to, like, release this song in a pack with some new stuff from Poison and Warrant. That would totally make my mullet stand on end. Awesome!
