Maybe it's not meant to be read line by line, but more like a crossword puzzle in the order it is presented?

As pointed out by another commenter, the only anomaly is the 8 on line 11, then only digit less than 10 not prefixed by a 0. Following the next 3 numbers and converting to letters, you get HOME, which may indicate that at some point that it will link to a home page maybe?

First thought Somebody somewhere guessed his fist clue correctly, or he wouldn't have changed it.

Other words seem to actually relate to the project: Kombat, Rage (if our guesses on the first clue was correct.), online, mode, evolve, story, Wii, Arcade, etc.

How can these words be arranged to say something cohesive like 'online mode'/'story mode'

I also think some of the words you guys found were there accidentally so some of them might need to be thrown out

I've got it. They're going to release the next MK game on WiiWare and Xbox Live Arcade. It's going to have online play and a story mode, and evolve the franchise. It'll take place on an island.

Basically it's a really crappy press release for their game.

From what I'm seeing so far in the replies above, I don't think we really need to go beyond functions specific to a two dimensional array.

Basically, concepts like ROT-13 and similar items may be useless, since we're already getting semi readable text that share a similar context using the 1=A, 2=B, etc approach.

While you could probably find something by applying a function similar to the second alien language in Futurama, it may not share the same context as the current text we're seeing now.

I stared at it and something hit me about sweeney todd for the wii for about 5 seconds but I lost it. I could see it, but I can't get it to make mathmatical sense.

The single eight occurs on row 11, column 9. No one else seems to have noticed that (or at least pointed it out).

i'm working on a program that tries every single alphabetic combination for different letters being first, but based off that odd 8 i wont be surprised if the 8th letter of the alphabet, h, is supposed to be treated as 01 and then you do the rest of the alphabet that follows so that 02 is i 03 is j and so on. I'll post my best result once i get something

This character is gonna rock! I noticed a 8 without a 0 next to it in the lower right corner. Wich makes sense, because this is the eight Kombat fighting game.

Well the abvious stuff is that the countdown ends when Midway is having their convention or whatever it is. Also the word "Vegas" in it as to give a hint to the convention thing is in Vegas. Also the 8 being solo without a 0 like all the numbers lower then 10 and that going to this being the 8th installment of the MK franchise.

I think all the other words are just pretaining to some of the characters in the game. For example "Freeze" = Sub-Zero, "Dead" = Zombie Liu Kang possibly? Or just fighters being killed? "Venom" = Reptile, "Tree" = Living Forrest or Maybe a Tree is a stage fatality? "Rain" = The character Rain or maybe a stage with actual rain in it?

The other big give away is the [DOT] is the MK symbol and the number 8. And of course all the words pretaining to something in the MK Universe, wether it's being reflected in the upcomming game or through out all the previous games. They all can be tied to something MK.

You guys are looking to hard into this, when it's really quite simple. You also have when that page had the Aprils Fools joke/code on it that had the numbers for each letter and it spelled "Touch" and that was inconjunction with the TRMK website and the guy did the video of MK running on an iPod/iPhone (touch). So that at least verifies that each number pretains to each letter in the alphabet.

So that's all it is. I guarentee EVERYONE! It's just MK8 will be announced/shown on April 17th 2008 at the Midway Gamers Convention (or I think it's officially called Midways Gamers' Day) in Las Vegas NV.

I'm willing to bet everything I own that's what it is. Hell if there was a betting line for what this is in Vegas I'd go bet everything I own over there. Like I said, to many of you are making this harder then what it is, or just hoping its not as simple as it is and wanting it to be something other then MK8. So for those that are doing that you're going to be in for some dissapointment. Although I'm excited and can't wait to see what MK8 is going to be and look. Just hoping it's not like the last one Armageddon. I didn't like the create a fatality nor the air-combo's.

the number sequence has disappeared and a blured image of what I believe to be scorpion has appeared. under the image is a set of scrambled letters. Through unscrambling, I believe it says,'Embargo Lifts Tomorrow'.

I read once that to crack a code you take all the words(which we need to find first)start with the second word and read every other word out, then start with the first word and read every other word and take the first letter out of each word and then finally take the first message and add it to the second one to get the full message thats about all I can do right now.

Maybe "Freeze Loses" means that Mr.Freeze is in the game and he gets owned by the Mortal Kombat guys.
