Gears of War action figures boxed, grumpy-looking
The long-awaited (but never viewed) first salvo of Gears of War action figures should be landing in your neighborhood Hot Topics and comic book shops in the next few weeks -- as a special teaser, manufacturer NECA released a plethora of images of the four burly, sailor-mouthed characters featured in the first series of man-dolls: Marcus Fenix, Augustus "Cole Train" Cole, Locust Drone, and everyone's favorite, Locust Sniper. We can't even imagine the kind of brutal, testosterone-enriched tea parties we're going to hold once we obtain these tiny gunhavers -- especially when our supply of Earl Grey begins to dwindle.

There needs to be a Theron Guard figure released at some point, Theron Guards are badass in every way.
peacebyanymeans (AKA: Moorio) @ Apr 13th 2008 3:36PM
Shit, looks like they upgraded...
J @ Apr 13th 2008 5:06PM
Looks like they will. If you look at the back of the boxes, where it says "Collect them all," you can see Dom and Baird along with a Theron Guard.
DangerMouse @ Apr 13th 2008 3:34PM
That looks like crap. The suit's too damn skinny. Did they jack this mold from another toy or something?
And lmao at the linkage to the mtv blog.
Huey2k2 @ Apr 13th 2008 3:36PM
You know I didn't actually look at the figurines until I read your comment, and you're right, they do look way too skinny.
Everyone in the game is jacked beyond belief, I wonder why these figures aren't...
prence @ Apr 13th 2008 10:12PM
They got suspended for 50 games for testing positive for banned substances a second time.
Co @ Apr 13th 2008 3:36PM
*shakes head*
John McPoop @ Apr 13th 2008 10:23PM

Morgan Gray's interview was a great contrast to N'Gai Croal's. First, there was the hysterical reactionary, and second, there was the reasonable, well thought out, sensible comments about race in video games.
The only change I would have made in the Gray interview would be in the first paragraph. Might wanna amend the first line to say, "Yesterday, I interviewed *formerly* renowned gaming journalist N'Gai Croal."

theturtle363 @ Apr 13th 2008 3:57PM
I'm going to have to brave the horrors of a hot topic to get one?
Mills and Boom @ Apr 13th 2008 4:03PM
Did we ever find out why he's so grumpy?
DangerMouse @ Apr 13th 2008 4:14PM
Hemorrhoids.
Luka M. @ Apr 13th 2008 4:12PM
Why so skinny? :/
prence @ Apr 13th 2008 10:12PM
They were listed in the Mitchell Report.

At least he looks like a normal human being in doll form. I couldn't play this game because just looking at the character design physically angered me. You couldn't ask for a more cookie cutter design/name.
Maverick Saturn @ Apr 13th 2008 4:33PM
Looks skinny :S
Tranando @ Apr 13th 2008 5:24PM
More proof that Xbox is for kids. You can get toys in your favorite Xbox characters.
LOL...

Stop, we really don't need a flame war in every thread. My fingers are tired.

Where is todd mcfarlene when you need him?!? He'd know how to properly make huge hunking puter figurines! and why bother making action figures anyone that buys them aren't gonna take them out of the box to play with them!
John McPoop @ Apr 13th 2008 6:14PM
The Locust figures look best to me ... Not like I would purchase any action figures anymore but the Locust ones certainly look cool ... A Gears Of War movie might actually turn out perfect because of the age old story of man vs space alien ...
Benny @ Apr 13th 2008 6:30PM
Awww, doesn't he look cute?!
Vcize @ Apr 13th 2008 8:16PM
Can't wait for the headshot one...

Didn't know you were so..... that.

If you don't like "gunhavers" to a Cheat Commando cartoon (or at least a Crack Stuntman cartoon) from homestarrunner.com you should have your blogging licenses revoked ;)

Isn't this about a year late?

fenixknight just blew a load.
Tim The Enchanter @ Apr 14th 2008 11:33AM
Cool. You'd be grumpy too if you were stuck in a plastic see-through packaging and your chainsaw-gun was your only way out, but was also out of reach and yet taunting you with how close it is.
aristokrat @ Apr 14th 2008 2:51PM
Where's Dom? I can't quit you Dom...
Or how about a "my love for you is like a truck....BERSERKER!"?
(Definitely my favorite achievement name thus far)
