Actually I was kinda glad for the let up in 360 releases. I have a backlog I worked through and finally bought a PS3 and am almost finished with Resistance and Uncharted.

I still hate the dual shock...

Thank god there's nothing I want again this week. Gotta get started on the Metal Gear series so I can be done before June!

...not to mention the fact that GTA comes out in what, two weeks?!

I got the essential collection and I've been playing through 3 again... It's still as amazing as it was. By far one of the best games I've ever played.

Hmm...a racing game with 37 cars? That's a HUGE upgrade from MotorStorm! Oh, and I get to pay for every bit of downloadable content along the way?

Blinx isn't looking so badly now...

I can't wait for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue.

One of the best racing games of all time, finally on a next gen console.

6 tracks, 72 cars and online play...sure, it's a sneak peak at GT5, but that's why they called it Prologue and that's why it's only $40.

Yeah but that'll still be £40 in UK.

Okay, as a Wii60 owner I have to step in and say.............

Can we please stop calling this a glorified demo? Demo games last for like what 2 minutes after you install them for free?

Let the racers race for christs sake.

smartest thing ive heard all day. different strokes for different folks. as a fan of the GT series, i may crack eventually and get Prologue but its too close to GTAIV now lol. if i buy it, itll only get 2 weeks worth of play and then GTA will consume my life once more.

Big sellout? Jakub, methinks you need to grow the fuck up. ANYTHING put in a retail package is a sellout. Artistic vision lies only in a dream and you're an idiot for believing this. Companies make products to make profit. Nintendo is not a teddy bear you huge at night, they are a merciless corporation with a bottom line to feed. Polyphony Digital sees the ever expanding development time for GT5 and since their last attempt to support the studio, GTHD, was completely pissed upon by fucking idiots who will gladly buy map packs to a 60 game but the same applied to a free game is a ripoff, Prologue becomes a necessity. And it's not even a new necessity. GT4 had a prologue which was popular in Japan, allowed the Polyphony the feedback they needed to make GT4 so good, and became a heavily imported title.

GT becoming a sellout series.... the WHOLE fucking franchise was born on a Mario Kart clone you pretentious prat!

Hold up there a sec, lets look at that carefully, can you give me one game on this sweet earth not raised for profits? Whether it's for charity or not?

Buying this game makes you as much a fool as buying any game :) Just because it's a demo, doesn't mean you are being riped off 'more', lol, it just means you are being ripped off 'again', after all the other game you bought, with and without the 'demo' tag.

@ Fidelus

"The point of the internet is to hate everything and everyone on the internet who is different from you."

Do you always have to disagree with every single person on every single goddamn topic?Because that's what I've noticed so far.

Also the respones was pretty much good before you called me a "pretentious prat".That's not how you disagree.

Gran Turismo Prologue can only be called a demo in comparison to the full Gran Turismo games, which are epic in size. Having had the game since its european release last month I've clocked more hours on it than Heavenly Sword which lasting only 5 hours was a tech demo. Also there is now around 45 minutes of HD video with Kazunori Yamauchi on the new R35 GT-R, and a 12 minute video on the Evolution X. With HD video car profiles, more cars than most racers (save GT itself and Forza, but more than Need for Speed), 6 tracks (3 real world, 1 real street course and 2 fictional) and the promise of a damage model, and more GT-TV content this is the most consise current-gen package for the car enthusiast in a digital age.

Tracks...I'm not sure 6 tracks is enough to stop calling this game a demo.

You can call it a demo all you want, but that doesn't change the fact that its a game, would it have made any difference if they had slapped the name GT5 on it? Without the prologue?

Doubt it, a game is a game, this is a game, and as long as it has lots to do and keep fans occupied, they wouldn't care less what you have to say, or the fact you insist its a demo, yeah it is a demo, but that doen't make it any less worthy of buying unless you're just not a fan of GT fullstop.

Stop repeating yourself.

Oy Jakub, shut the fuck up already. No one cares if you think the game is a demo or not.

The amount of content for $40? Works for me, if I can get to play the best racing simulation ever made in full HD.

First of all if you didn't care, you wouldn't react so violently telling me to stfu.If nobody cared we wouldn't have a huge "PS3 owners/fanboys vs Everybody else" flame war either.

PS:I'm not sure if GT5 is a "simulator".Imo it's more of a game to me but let's not start another flamewar.

The reason I told you to stfu (and of course you didn't listen) is because you have made more than 10 comments in thread that all say the same thing, essentially blanketing the thread in your useless derails. So, yeah, please shut the fuck up already.

EL SERPIENTE, PS3 FANBOY EXTRORDINAIRE TO THE RESCUE!

Sorry, but the game IS a demo, as the FULL game is coming out NEXT YEAR- or wait, you probably consider Gran-Turismo HD a full game, right?

This is a larger, better GT HD, not the full game- you guys can get ripped off if you like... Its funny because many of you rip on the Xbox and LIVE for it's fee, yet you're getting robbed in broad daylight... You're paying 2/3s of the price for less than half the game.

As for the lack of 360 games for the past 2 weeks, its alright with me. Given me a chance to catch up on the two games that I am still going at it with. Lost Odyssey and Rainbowsix Vegas 2. Not to mention the multiplayer COD4 that must be played with the new maps!

I've never been a big fan of sim racers like GT or Forza. Gimme Mario Kart or a Rrrrridge Rrrrracerrr over that anyday but thats just me. I like to have fun in my games.

So when is WipeoutHD dropping? Now thats a title I cant wait for! No new games for me this week but its ok I'll save some $$$ and wait 'till GTAIV.

There are a few questions for those who have actually PLAYED GT5P. First, online play: Is there ghosting or will people have to get around me to beat me?
Second, Is the F1 available?
Lastly, What is with that Avantgard jazz piano shit menu music?

There isn't ghosting, except when someone gets penalised for crashing into someone or taking a shortcut. They ghost and their speed is limited. It also ghosts anyone going too slow on a straight or too fast into a corner (to save them crashing into the people who breaked properly).

Unfortunately its buggy, you'll get shunted around and penalised even if its not your fault, but it's still fun!

well if GT still isnt doing external mods then fuck them.... you can keep 30 evo with different logos on them if i cant put a bodykit on it. In order to truely be a sim you have that. There's not to many racing leagues in the world where the body of a car stays stock. there's always modifications

The only thing that would stop me from buying this would be when the full retail version comes out I'd be rebuying half the freaking game.

It's not like in Halo or Mario Kart where they contain remade maps- this would be you're literally buying the exact same polygons, meshes materials everything. WTF is the good of that?

Microsoft did this last generation with Fable and Ninja Gaiden.. only when they rereleased the game, they added content and reduced the price. Apparently the "reduced the price" part is where this whole plan goes pear-shaped.

I haven't been coming to Joystiq.com for very long, but in the short time I've been reading it, I've noticed that they're pretty biased toward the PS3. The recent poll results for GTAIV show the 360 winning pretty handily, but they still try to make it sound better for the PS3 by saying that the ratio to PS3 owners to games sold will be higher and blah blah blah.

So now they're making fun of the 360 for having nothing new out this week when all that the PS3 has out is a $40 demo of a game that won't be out for a year. All this is is Sony trying to make money on a game that has been delayed. If you buy it, you're a sucker.
