Even from the mysterious Joystiq oil tanker somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean, we could hear fanboy hearts preemptively breaking at reports of disc problems with Mario Kart Wii. (Seriously, it was loud. We had to turn the volume all the way up on our Tony Robbins' motivational cassettes just to drown it out.) Perhaps hearing the cries as well from Nintendo HQ (a hovering, edible castle constructed entirely from dreams), Big N is trying to pre-preemptively fix hearts, saying that it has had no reports of problems at all.
Also, Nintendo says that rather than the dual-layer discs that caused problems for Smash Bros. Brawl, MKW comes on a single-layer disc, which isn't really that surprising, considering the same game originally shipped on a Super NES cartridge. ... Wow, we are so going to regret that.

Everyone voting these troll posts up should be ashamed of themselves. It's pretty pathetic especially in a Mario Kart thread. Does it boost your esteem to vote someone down (as I'm sure this will be) for having a valid conversation about a game they anticipate? And does it feel good to continually track the progress of a company you hate and reward your 'net buddies' for bashing for no reason. Joystiq has gone downhill because of these trolls. There needs to be a better banning system.

Is anybody here having any trouble with their copies? (and yes annicdotal evidence is useless I know), Im just curious..
Also.. WOW!.. The Nintendo hate has been growing so much in the coments section lately its palpable, soon there will be nothing left here but hate.
I could almost agree with the tottaly bitching hardcore gamers here (do the dew fellas!) that real gamers are turning against Nintendo, judging by all the hate.. That is, if 90% of the hate wasnt being generated from one source ... Hey Killjebus, keep fighting the good fight man, I think you almost got em.

Yes, I had problems with my disks, or I thought. I took the first game back for replacement, and when that didn't work I updated the wii console software from the internet, and it immediately read the disk after that.
Might have been a coincidence, but if anyone is having issues with Mario Kart, try updating the console first.
