I guess you didn't dig on/understand the whole "New World Order/Gangs being unleashed by the government only to be beaten down by the same government later on" story.
I don't know how we missed it ; )
F'real though, I liked the story of crackdown, not sure if Crackdown 2 would be a similar thing, or maybe (a la prototype?) in the vein of a previously controlled superhuman cop thing breaks free and gets pissed off over the immorality of cloning dudes to super jack em up and take on an unsuspecting populace in a war where the government is controlling _ insert Sean Connery voice here_ and playing both sides.

I liked crackdown. They just need to further the story a bit more and actually have one. The missions became repetitive after a few. The agility and hidden orbs added a lot as that took a lot of time to find them all. Visually I enjoyed the game and would certainly buy a part 2, but not likely until it drops in price. I did not use CD for the beta. I bought it for what it is, or was.

Nah, not the only person. I, too, bought Crackdown for Crackdown. The H3ß was gravy.

Crackdown was a really good game, and I enjoyed it a lot more than I had expected. I rented it and beat it back when it came out, but I just found it at Target for $15 on clearance, so I finally bought it.
A sequel to Crackdown would be a must-own for me.

But I'm jazzed for this APB, what a great idea! Any idea what year it's coming out?

I actually never played the Halo 3 beta.
In fact, I've never played Halo 3, period.
Or Halo, in general, for that matter.

I question how 'good' the story was because I have a serious problem with denouement being delivered seconds before the credits roll. If you are planning on a sequel sure, I guess you could end it that way. It worked for Empire Strikes Back but that had two whole movies leading up to that point.
As it stood, you played for hours knowing you were a mutant cop and little else. You would get a voice over telling you this is a bad person kill her. Gooood...now let me tell you a 10 second recap of the next target. Now go kill them.
It had a very weak story, I would like to know more about the main character.
As for the gameplay, I WOULD like a boss that was more difficult than the rest of his gang. I never got that feeling. You're long range weapons were so strong that you often didn't need to get near them to take them out.
Keep in mind, I loved the game. Jumping from building to building was great.

I agree with you Neon,
But I liked the way it didn't tell you what was happening, and didn't drop many hints along the way. It was a complete 180, since you spent the last X # of hours playing as the ultimate authority figure, and suddenly, you realized you were the puppet of a horrific totalitarian govt that would willingly inflict damage to itself and its society for the sake of furthering its own internal security goals.
Sounds eerily similar to events from 1938/2001...

Yes, Crackdown was so much fun. I've played that on co-op so much, it is a great game. Crackdown 2 would be fantastic. 4 player co-op would be nice too.

So it wasn't just me then!!
Bought the DLC and that little buggy is the best thing ever!
I've spent countless hours in co-op with a mate seeing who could climb the steepest rocks and hills!
And yeah, Crackdown 2 please. (After APB is finished of course)

Crackdown was the game that originally sold me on the 360. Bring on the sequels.
