Haze gets May demo, slightly earlier release
59
Haze's hazy path to becoming an actual, released game became a little more concrete today, with Ubisoft's announcement of a May PSN demo and yet another new release date for the somewhat issue-prone first-person shooter. Surprisingly enough, the new May 20 date is actually three days earlier than the previously "definite" May 23 release (though that may have applied to Europe only). It might not seem like much, but after more delays than we can count (not literally), any move in the other direction is a welcome announcement. Will this release date be the final one? As the Magic 8-Ball might say: "Outlook hazy, try again later."

I know I've been hating on Haze and GT4P but for some reason I really want to get them for my PS3. Hopefully this game will turn out to be good! Also, does anyone know if it has multiplayer? I don't remember reading that anywhere.

I know it has co-op, but does it have any of the multiplayer goodness Free Radical is known for?

The demo will feature the 4 player drop in/out co-op of the campaign and also the single player part of the campaign. I would think this would be more important to point out than the delays.

I think the delays get pointed out now just because of how many times it's happened. Is there any other game that has had this many release dates?

I'm sorry, can you point me to a DEMO that has 4 player online co-op? I think that is kind of a bigger deal than its delays.
When Brawl was delayed, was that constantly brought up in its news to overshadow its content?

That's even worse! In these "next-gen" games where you fight against other people, everybody always looks the same, sounds the same, and acts the same. Seriously, when I saw that picture, I first thought this was going to be about Crysis.
I just want a game with some style like Doom or the original Quake or Duke Nukem or Blake Stone. Is that too much to ask from these makers of so-called hardcore games? Seriously, it seems hardcore is Latin for let's make every game totally generic and stupid.

Actually in the Halo series, the main character Master Chief Petty Officer John-117 is referred to as "The Demon" by many aliens.

Unfortunately you don't get to fight demons in Haze's campaign. Then again, you've always got online multiplayer for that.

I'm just sick of futuristic games, with futuristic settings (which always seems to be earth in shambles), with futuristic weapons and futuristic vehicles and blah blah blah. Especially when the futuristic weapons are designed for the sole purpose of looking futuristic, as opposed to being well thought out and functional weaponry.

Then again, aren't you bored of the olden day setting too, COD, MOH and several others, yeesh.

At least wait for the demo to prove that statement. Saying it now, in an article about a future demo, just sounds like hating. Say: "It will probably suck."

"my bad" who says that anymore? so are you saying in general it "may" suck? or are you implying (which is what it seems) the ps3 version will suck? in either case, what if you're wrong?

My only gripe is that it comes smack dab in the middle of GTA and MGS.

Methinks you need to open your frackin eyes. After all, there was Jericho, Condemned 2, Quake Wars (You mentioned Quake), Uncharted (spoiler warning), Painkiller, among many others.
Also, if you're going to complain about generic games where you fight aliens instead of demons, don't mention Blake Stone.
A. Blake Stone is about as generic of a sprite based shooter as you can get and was cookie cutter even during the early days of FPS.
B. The games subtitle is Aliens of Gold. Seriously, what the fuck?!? "I remember when I fought demons on an alien infested space station." Screaming shits, are you retarded?
